I use mine for separating chicken wings. Chop chop chopI would like a cleaver, but I'm not sure why. What do you generally use it for?
Another brilliant Mets signing.Robinson Cano....lulz
If you're not using it to butcher/cut up meat or wings like @Peter Gozintite mentioned it could be to do multiple garlic cloves at once but I wouldn't use it on anything a basic chef's knife could easily handle.I would like a cleaver, but I'm not sure why. What do you generally use it for?
I have a feeling that, unlike squirrels, those are very protected.Reminds me of my uncle shooting a beaver through his 12 foot picture window... 175 acres on a peninsula, and the beavers kept taking down the trees he wanted left alone. I honestly thought my uncle was gonna wind up in the nut house over them.
I know a handyman with a van full of tools who makes a grand a day in cash, on average. He says he could work 365 days a year because he has a good reputation, always shows up when he says he's going to and always does the job right, even if he underquoted. His wife does the scheduling and office work and she tells everyone they need to have cash ready and they always do.Old dude was pretty happy with everything. He couldnt believe that I did everything so fast. Changed the disposal, swapped out a bad AFCI breaker in the main panel, put a new door sweep on the front door, and replaced a GFCI outlet in the bathroom. Done in less than 1 hour. He was super happy, and gave me $200.00.
He was like, "How do you know how do all this stuff?"
I explained that I have always been the type that wanted to know how things work. I used to get my ass beat for taking my new Christmas presents apart to see the inner workings. I would watch other trades when I was in construction and ask questions constantly.
There really isn't a whole lot of things that I CANT do, but there are tons that I don't want to do.
What bugs me about the schools is that they have the lowest positivity rate out of the entire city. It's like the safest place for kids to be. But they aren't shutting down bars or restaurants, just making them close at 10PM, which also makes no sense. Either have them be opened, or shut them down completely. My girls have been distance learning all year so far.
though, this just in.....
Our gyms will be closing. Youth and school sports are "pausing." I'm guessing "indefinite" will be his response, but can bank on at least through Jan. 1.
Social gatherings will be verboten..... express authority to be given to the AG to prosecute.
Not really sure what else to expect. Governor's announcement will come at 6 tonight... rather than his typical 2PM pressers..... exactly at the time that local channels switch over to national news...
I do know that they will be doing something with bars and restaurants.... it's all kinds of fucked up. More businesses will be lost.
Minnesota will be a police state as of tonight.
LOL @ Dr. Squatch!!!
My Dad has an ongoing war with squirrels on his rural property and I've got to admit, it seems like those fuckers are extremely smart but also make it personal. They go to his apple trees, take one bite out of each one, drop them to the ground and go to the next.
They destroyed his garden, doing the same thing. Taking one bite out of each thing and dropping it.
They go through a very complicated route to get from their huge-ass oak tree in the very back to his garden and orchard on the side, to avoid him because hes sitting at his office window with a scoped .22
While I was there last time he shot one and it shattered his back leg but he was screaming and still alive. He left him to suffer. It's very personal.![]()
A friend I go shooting with often has an uncle with a bit of land down in the middle of nowhere Oklahoma. The guy shoots birds out his back door, right through the screen sometimes, and let's all his barn cats eat them. Ken showed me a pic of the back door. The framing is full of .22 rounds. And if you look it the porch railing outside, it's all fucked up as well. Ken added his uncle puts away a good amount of bourbon daily.... and isn't a particularly good shot to begin with.Reminds me of my uncle shooting a beaver through his 12 foot picture window... 175 acres on a peninsula, and the beavers kept taking down the trees he wanted left alone. I honestly thought my uncle was gonna wind up in the nut house over them.
I am actually thinking about getting a basic handyman license. Just to fill in on slow times. I usually have a list of friends and family that need shit done, and if they arent in a hurry, I tell them I will call when I'm slow. Most people would rather wait for me to be available than hire anyone else.I know a handyman with a van full of tools who makes a grand a day in cash, on average. They do work great for smashing garlic, and not having little pieces shoot out from under the blade. If you're not using it to butcher/cut up meat or wings like @Peter Gozintite mentioned it could be to do multiple garlic cloves at once but I wouldn't use it on anything a basic chef's knife could easily handle.
Also the handle could double as a tenderizer
