CFB Pet Peeves

Not having to be touched down. Receiver makes a great diving catch with no defender around, he should be able to up and keep running. It never really bothered me that much until the 2019(2018 season) Sugar Bowl when our punter went to a knee to field a snap and was ruled down.
You down, you down. Ought to change to college rule in the pros.

It's been 30 years but still.

The way OU did Barry Switzer at the end was fucking bullshit!
It went down that way because OU had a dick for a President at the time who got all wobbly and threw in with the local press who had sided with the mob. Frank Horton simply didn't give a hoot about athletics. He lasted at Oklahoma for just 3 years and got kicked to the curb a year after Switzer was fired. The Daily Oklahoman (known locally at the Daily Disappointment) is famous for bleeding heart sports writers and they had a field day with Switzer. It was a recipe for disaster for Barry simply because he didn't have the desire to fight all of them to keep his job. Could he have kept it? Yeah but who wants to coach for a school that doesn't support you? So he was fired and the football program went to hell in a hand basket for a looooong time. I'm concerned about the current President (Joseph Harroz Jr.) who is made of the same material. Harroz is spending millions on social justice issues and affirmative action hires that have raised a lot of eye brows among the older alumni (the most generous donors) at OU. He is simply playing the "woke" game to the max and doesn't have much interest in athletics. I expect NO leadership from this guy if push comes to shove. David Boren spent money like a drunken pirate but at least he loved athletics and did a great job when the Big XII was just about to dissolve or become a whole owned subsidiary of the University of Texas. Boren faced Texas down and it's a shame he later got into a tight over some nonsense that was just an excuse to get someone more "progressive" and "forward looking". Joe Castiglione (AD) is our saving grace now at OU.

Wearing your college team gear in public, someone striking up a conversation with you about college football and then after about 5 minutes of conversation you realize they still think the PAC-12 is the PAC-10.
Wearing a neutral t-shirt and being quizzed about the team! lol. I've had two particularly funny experiences: One in Sydney, AUS being quizzed about who would be the Cal QB that day vs. Hawaii in the Hotel elevator and the other in the Downtown Des Moines Hy-Vee being quizzed by a Hawkeye fan about how I thought Michigan State would do that year! lol. Both times, I played along and got away with it, but I was THIS CLOSE to saying: "I'm just wearing the t-shirt damnit!" :)

All we need to do is lose to Stephen F Austin tomorrow and that'll blow the whole damn week. We've lost to the likes before.
Go Miners!!! Been a fan since the Bob Stull Era!

Boren is an idiot. While he was getting heat back in Norman, he would then go on a stooper and tell the press how ou was looking out for it's best interests, demanded an expansion list of potential schools.. when NOBODY was wanting to in the conference.

He just like to rile things up to cover the things he was struggling with back on campus.

Joe seems like a good AD

Having to watch my team on espn3 cause they suck!!!

At one point (September 2011), it looked like Oklahoma was serious about bolting from the Big XII and they were maneuvering behind the scenes to get an invitation to do what aTm had just done. Texas President William Powers Jr., athletic director DeLoss Dodds and women's athletic director Chris Plonsky went to Norman and met with Boren, Castiglione and other OU officials to head that off. It worked. OU stuck with Texas and we ended up where we are today.

Conferences highlighting an individual team's wins, success, etc. prior to said team becoming an actual member of that conference.

"Penn St. was robbed of a CFP spot a few yrs ago."

Absolute horseshit.

My biggest pet peeve is when someone yells and screams during a game and then asks something profound like, "when we have the ball are we offense or defense?" and has no idea on how the four downs work. Every time a ball is thrown incomplete, "FUMBLE!!!" That is a Bama fan in my family ... how can you get excited over something that you have no basic understanding.

The PA playing "Crazy Train" by Ozzy Osbourne at some random point in the 3rd Quarter.
1. Along these lines; the band playing the same god damn bland 80's rock songs - or - trying to be hip by playing early 2000's songs at halftime. "And now, let's not try to get too wild with......Bon Jovi!!!!!"

2. TV FUCKING TIMEOUTS. God damn it. I'd pay $20 more per ticket to not ever have to sit through one of those again.

Come one, you don’t like hearing Journey every game?

Getting kicked out for targeting.

TV timeouts. I hate when a team scores and they go to commercial, kickoff, go to another commercial. That shit irritates me.

Plays getting reviewed for anything and everything and even worst when they wait to ball is snap to stop everything.
Maybe it's time for CFB to move to coach challenges like the NFL

And still getting the call wrong
