Here is an idea. Keep the tools for yourself and when something breaks be a good son and go over and fix it like a man.

Buy your mother something a woman would want. Not power tools.

I live 3.5 hrs away.

I do plenty when I do go up there and visit, but she is also a pretty handy broad that can do stuff on her own.

I have a good amount of my dad's tools, but I also have my own.

So I think I'll get the spare tire kit for it. Yeah, they sell at thru the parts department.
Dumbest thing I have ever seen, but a lot of manufacturers are going to it.

I'd feel better knowing its in the trunk.

Yeah
Ford gives that.
But I want one because she will never be more than a few miles from the house, and I can just go change it, and not have to wait to be towed in to the Dealer just for a flat tire. Because without a spare tire, I don't think roadside assistance can do much, except to tow it in.

And I'd rather avoid doing that.

Or, roadside assistance can change it if I'm not close.
