That shit sucks.

My MIL and one of her sisters are still somewhat awkward around each other since a blow-up over stuff from cleaning out their mother's house 10 years ago.

Not that I will have much to pass on to my kids, but one of the rules will be that anything that gets fought over winds up in the trash.
Its such an amazing thing to me how family can turn on each other when it comes to parents' possessions. I get there is often a sentimental attachment but I cannot think of one thing that I would battle my brother over.

Now my SIL? She even lays a hand on Dad's leisure suits I am going to kick her ass!!!

Rough, buddy. I get it. I hope you never have to follow the instructions.
It's inevitable. We're all worm food one day. Our parents? Even sooner.

was cleaning out the basement some last night and have an old comforter I want to donate...but it won't fit in any of those damn donation bins

Take it to a thrift store like Goodwill or Salvation Army. Or get a bunch of stuff together and call Vietnam Vets or Purple Heart.

the local place that that takes donations like that is open tomorrow. Thanks for reminding me they exist.

I used to like Douglas fir growing up. We started having issues with needles, though. I don't see them around here anymore. It's all Fraser and Canaan Firs, Scotch and White Pines, and some Colorado and White Spruce (hell no). You can get some Norway Spruce with the roots, too.
Golfed with a guy this fall who named every tree on the course, corrected us on a few. Then told us he could give the Latin names as well, if we wanted him to do so.

Know-it-all's are the worst.

I had a cool evening with my son last night. We were looking at my old sports card collection and he was really intrigued and said he wanted to start a collection. I got him a couple vintage cards for Christmas. Looking forward to sharing this interest with him
Kid and I do that with classic rock music.

He wasn't like that, though. Some of us were talking about trees for some reason (course has a million of them) and apparently misnamed them. He corrected us and gave us some more information.

Turns out he worked for the Forestry department and then did a side gig for lumber guys at night and made a bundle. Retired in his 40's.

Had an Oklahoma State golf bag and talked a little funny, doh.

When we were cleaning out our basement, we made a donation of 7 or 8 bags to Purple Heart, and then drove over to Goodwill a few months later when we found more stuff we weren't using.

We've been using a consignment shop near us for getting stuff and getting rid of some things for the kids. Sold the bassinet that we had for Ham and Little Guy this past weekend.

Good morning good people. Another cold morning. I finally convinced the wife to allow me to turn on the heat. It feels real good.

Cowboys play tonight. Not much hope anymore. I think they have to win just about all their remaining games. Lots of luck with that.

I'm going to try and take my male cat to the vet today. He's got a lump on his throat and the pills weren't very successful. It's not cancerous, but it needs to be removed.

Thought for the day: It sure is strange, but after Tuesday the rest of the week spells WTF.
