tOfficial B1G Thread

Some poster on HuskerOnline said that Nebraska's contract with the B1G is up in 2023 or 2024 (can't quite recall) - is this accurate or how does this work?

I also recently read that the Big12 will be looking to expand in the next couple of years.... you all know where I stand. Could you imagine the ratings if Nebraska went back to the Big12, the ratings of the first Oklahoma or Texas games lol.

I'm getting giddy just thinking about it.

He's saying the Big 10 television contracts are up in 2024.

If B1G says Ohio State is not eligible for CCG, which game would be bigger?

B1G CG - Indiana vs Northwestern
Div #2? - Ohio State vs Iowa/Wisconsin winner

I think I heard that Indiana paused all activity yesterday due to Covid.

I don't see Nebraska going back to the B12 unless they could come close match what the B1G is giving them monetarily. It's not just football either, pretty sure I remember reading Nebraska gets a shit load more university research money in the B1G.

Indiana should tell the B1G to go fuck itself. They play their real game they are in the championship game. Why would they fucking play Oh St a second time?

I fully expect them to let Ohio State into the championship game whether they play another game or not. Talking about over 400k a school in a year when everyone is hurting if Ohio State makes the playoffs. They are gonna try to ensure the Buckeyes have the highest possibility to go on their end

Plus in the Big12 you can lose 2 games and still be in the running for the CCG :suds:

Can't wait for all this "Nebraska to the Big 12" bullshit can be put to rest.
Because the big12 is going to be split up? Yeah me too.

:pop2:

To try and beat OSU , then beat NW and then root like hell for ND to best Clemson again ??

B1G has no credibility. Sad.

Did the schools vote on this or was this a league-only decision?

Believe either the athletic directors or presidents were meeting today. So, this came from that discussion.

That is possible, I haven't looked too far into it. I think the B1G payout is 50mil for football and the current Big12 is like 40-45mil. However, both the B1G and the Big12 numbers could change if Nebraska moved. It may bring down the B1G numbers a little and lift the Big12 a little. Nebraska comes with a ton of viewers, not just the state, Nebraska has a huge fan base.

You're an A&M fan, right?

In all honesty, I would like to see the old band back together with CU and MU as well as A&M. I know that won't happen, but I would be content with just Nebraska going back home.

But it would be nice if A&M/Texas and Nebraska/OU played every Thanksgiving.

Best.
Holiday.
Ever.

And Thanksgiving is already probably my favorite or 2nd favorite lol.

B1G is over $50 schmill, Big 12 depends on third tier... Texas makes just over $50, but they have ESPN. The conference money is almost $40 mill.

I don't know when each contract was signed, which is also important.
