This reminds me...I have a copy of Tim McCarver's book (or at least, I used to have one, think it might have gotten donated to the library). He describes playing in the minors in Florida one season, and a bunch of players were drinking a case of cheap mexican beer. One of them got a bad brew, tasted awful, and of course, he passed it around to everybody with the customary, "taste this, doesn't this taste awful to you?" until nearly everyone had taken a sip.
They cut the can open, and there was a dead mouse inside.

I wasn't a SRV worshipper, so it didn't bother me that much, but 30 years ago today I was starting my sophomore year of college.
And they had asked me to be part of Freshman orientation, so I got to speak to the incoming class about my experiences, and who they could go to for assistance, including my dorm room.
