Well, I hope so. I want a strong League, and don't want to see any NHL relocation to San Antonio, Providence or Birmingham. Seattle certainly isn't Atlanta or San Diego and has real fans that will support teams. But it will be an uphill battle.

I don't hate on either. The NHL did it because they didn't want another Atlanta Thrashers / Arizona Coyotes, and didn't think they could trust that a brand new fanbase would stick around if it meant 3+ years of a young, building team. I have nothing against the VGK as an organization, either. But self-entitled VGK fans who think they have a legitimate team is what pisses me off.
No matter- it was the wimpiest of opponents that the Caps beat on their title run. Hell, anyone in the East knew it was a free Cup, once the Preds went down.
The Penguins have won games without Baby Crosby. Hockey is a team sport, through and through. Sorry if Ovechkin is a more noteworthy player than Crosby. In 30 years from now, Crosby will be just one of a long line of good centers- Toews, Tavares, Backstrom, Francis, Kopitar, Sakic, maybe Messier, etc. But Ovechkin will be a scoring legend sitting one spot above (or below) Gretzky.

Yes, VGK are not a legitimate new team because of the draft rules and the unfair way the team was allowed to wield them. No previous team ever had such an advantage.
How so? Tampa Bay was the class of the League that season. Any of the 3 EC teams the Capitals played were superior to Vegas.
As I said, history won't remember Crosby as that spectacular. It will for Ovechkin. Hell, Dominik Hasek and Patrick Kane will probably be remembered as at least as good as Crosby.
