6'2" 230. Big and fast enough to play today. It's the old comparing eras thing. There was no doubt who was the best when Brown played, unlike the Payton/Sanders/Smith discussion or like nowadays when we don't have great RB. Henry and Kamara may prove me wrong but they just don't jump off the page.But then,if Brown played todayhe might not either unless he played for one of the few teams that run 35 times per game.

I honestly think that if Sanders would have played for the Plowboys, he would have ran for well over 2,000 yards every season. This also takes into account that Dallas was much more of a run first team than Detroit.

1 - Barry Sanders
2 - Adrian Peterson
3 - LaDainian Tomlinson
4 - Marshall Faulk
5 - Emmitt Smith

I'm guessing the reason @Peter Gozintite told me to fuck off for this post is because I didn't include Walter Payton.

I only saw the man play at the very end of his career. Also the reason I didn't include Eric Dickerson or Earl Campbell. Their glory years were behind them by the time I got to see them play.

I would place Jim Brown #1.
What amazes me is no one has Eric Dickerson in their top 5.
As far as pure runners, outside of Brown he might be the best pure "runner"

Dickerson should be but he sabotaged himself by being a douche and being nearly unanimously disliked by teammates. It isn’t fair but that is why he isn’t ever in the conversation even though anyone who thinks Emmitt Smith was better than Dick is an utter idiot.

Yes, Dickerson deserves to be in the discussion.
 
I think I have to separate era’s for RB’s-they were just different back in the day.

You could make a case for Payton or Brown. Co-GOAT’s is fine with me
