Where does Mahomes' performance last night rank among the worst QB performances in the SB?

Maybe, and the coaching staff didn’t help him out with the play calls, but at the same time, he’s the QB and can audible
TB already had that wrapped up. Not really sure what's that based in. At some point the defense just outplayed your offense. Add in the drops and you're SOL. Ultimately a QB cannot in fact will a team to victory on his own. Brady would fare no better behind that OL against the Bucs.

I don’t think Brady exactly lit the world on fire either, but Mahomes didn’t play good at all. He had some dropped passes, he also had some bad passes, and he also held onto the ball too long at times. They were getting chunks on the ground, maybe change to a running play at the line a few times

Mahomes did play well. His team and coaches did not. I don't think it's up to discussion outside of boxscore watching. When you're grasping for straws to "maybe" audible to run plays against far and away the league's best run D, maybe it was TB's night and that's that.

He had a bad game, doesn’t mean he’s not a great QB.

TB might have had one of the top run defenses, but the KC RBs were getting over 6 YPC. That’s because TB was playing their safeties deep and pass rushing most every play.

It was TB’s night, but everyone on KC other than the RBs, including Mahomes helped TB’s cause

I just don't see how you can say Mahomes played poorly besides playing on the team that lost last night and a boxscore. Sometimes your team loses decisively and that's that. That's the kind of pressure QB's get sacked 10+ times again.

Agree to disagree.

He did a good job of avoiding sacks. That’s about it though. Great QBs have bad games every now and then

A lot of things went wrong for the Chiefs and it starts with the coaching staff...if you see Mahomes is getting pressured constantly you have some of the fastest WR's in the NFL...why not throw shorter passes? Slants, stop, etc. I didn't see them make a whole lot of adjustments which shocking tbh. Hill and Kelce can beat man to man anyday of the weak and are great at beating zone and finding spots. Mahomes did hold onto the ball too long, like Wilson and Watson are accustomed to doing, so he had opportunities to throw the ball away and chose not to but he also gave his receivers a chance on a number of plays by extending the play so can't fault him there. Overall Mahomes still had a below average game especially for what we expect of him being the best QB in the league. It's also shocking they pretty much gave up on the run, KC's defense was holding their own for most or all of the 1st half they should have at least tried to run the ball more or mix it up. Full team effort L here but Mahomes didn't play up to his standards.

I haven't watched any Super Bowl that happened prior to 1999(98 season), so if there's some old stinkers in there, some of you old timers can educate me. Also, odds are high that I'm forgetting someone obvious(I'm retarded, cut me some slack)

Only worse performances I can remember are Cam Newton in 2016 and Kerry Collins in 2001
Tony Eason against the 85 Bears was the worst.....

Pretty crazy considering he could have done even more.
I guess he could’ve.

His 10 receptions were tied for the second most he had this season. 13 once, in the AFCG against Buffalo

His 133 yards was his fourth most. 159, 136 twice and the 133 in the Super Bowl.

13 for 159 was back in November against Carolina.

SB was Kelce’s second best game of the season tbh. KC should’ve ran more, specifically some draws, imo.

Craig Morton was replaced at halftime against Dallas in Super Bowl XII. - signed an old timer

I hope you’re just trolling.

Cuz this is an absolutely terrible take on the game. Mahomes doesnt call plays. A walrus who doubles as the worlds worst father does.

Paragraphs, motherfucker.

Heard he is getting surgery on his toe and the injury was pretty bad. He played through it, and had shit protection. He'll be back again.

4 completions & 4 INTs & got beat the fuck up.
As he should have been replaced. (BTW he was never significant again in the NFL)

To me this is the worst Qb performance in history.
As far as team. Same superbowl as far as worst QB performance. The next QB also only got 4 completions.

Yeah he got beat up so bad, two Dallas d linemen were named co-MVPs of that Super Bowl.

Back before they just handed the MVP to whatever quarterback was on the winning team.

Not really trolling. A QB should be able to read a defense and change the play at the line. Matt Ryan can’t and that’s why I hate him.

But at the end of the day, I don’t really think he stood a chance with the o-line

I watched it again yesterday, and man, if it wasn't the quietest best performance ever, I don't know what was?

I think TB's plan was a bend but don't break deal. No big plays over the top. Let Kelce get his but kill Hill.

If Kelce could've gotten in the endzone, there wouldn't even be this discussion. Dude's a helluva player.

Fwiw, that particular post of mine was complete trollery.

But Andy does clearly suck.
