Big Ten Basketball

Illinois got what they deserved tonight. That was some awful FT shooting in the 2nd half.

True. And they should have known Sparty was going to be physical. But that was really physical and if that game is played in mid-March, Sparty has 6 guys foul out with 10 minutes left

I think if Michigan State goes 3-2 they get in...
Depends who the 3 wins are against -- they play OSU and 2 games against UM. If they win 2 out of 3 -- I could see them getting in, if they split with Indiana and Maryland.

If they don't -- they will need to make a deep run on the B1G tourney or I think they will be one of the last teams out

MSU is a bewildering resume to me. Honestly it's not that different in a case than Indiana or Minnesota yet most brackets have latter 2 in but MSU not even on the bubble. Shit I think it's a better resume than Dukes but Duke is consistently ahead of MSU

I guess Michigan State should have beat Duke when they played this season... wait

It's because the metrics aren't any good. IMO they should be closer to Minn/IU in these projections. I'd still have Minn slightly ahead at this point though.

Sure I agree but it's not like 8-10 teams different. There are pretty consistently that amount if teams between IU/UM and MSU . It's the frustrating part about the use of metrics . Like Iowa was a 4 seed in the bracket reveal despite being a top 8 team by pretty much every metric yet we see the bottom of the bracket treated differently than the top . It irritates me lol

I did see last night that their SOS is like 191 or some shit. Pretty crazy when you consider the fact they play in the BIG.

That should change quite a bit with the guantlet coming up though.

That's gotta be OOC SoS I'd guess. Sagarin has their SoS at 15

Their NET SOS is at 116. They've yet to play Michigan, and only played OSU and Illinois once. Plus they have a brutal OOC SOS as in not very good. I'd be curious what SOS the committee officially uses. I'm guessing their own.

Thats a huge difference

I just wish I cared as much about basketball as I do football.
