Stainless is a marketing ploy. I'm pissed that you saps made me change my style.

Just make sure you ease it in and not try to force it.
That's the delivery people's issue, not mine. But there seems to be a lot of wasted space on the back where all those coil things are and on the side, where I seem to drop spoons and little spice jars.

If you like magnets on your fridge, whenever you replace your fridge with stainless, take a magnet with you to make sure they'll stick. Magnets won't stick to many brands of stainless steel fridges (or at least they didn't used to, maybe things have changed).

Although I guess the dishwasher will be a good test.

Eh. The old washing machine got rid of just about everything. Occasionally, we'd find food stuck on the odd spoon or bowl, but the plates and glasses were pretty much flawless. I did have to run a cleaning cycle with a cup full of vinegar sometimes to help clean out the gunk, and I probably didn't keep it on a schedule enough (I'd only run a cleaning cycle when I noticed particles left on glasses). And I wouldn't leave like giant hunks of meatloaf on a plate. But if the dishwasher can't rinse stuff off that my faucet can, that's a machine problem.
tldr, guess i'm going to mcdonalds, pnk wasn't even kind enough to say if the chicken sandwich was worth it.

We did them as they broke/needed to be replaced. Thought we were going to have to do the stove first, but it was fridge, stove, dishwasher.

Honestly, I don't even notice or care enough about the appliances, so I'm going to be the wrong person to ask here, but we're going to do it the same way. We run things till the wheels fall off. Unless I'm trying to sell the house, I don't care whether everything matches.

Oh, I'm definitely usually one for not replacing things until absolutely necessary, and I feel a bit frivolous for considering replacing everything when everything doesn't need to be replaced. At the same time, I do care whether my appliances match. They don't have to be the same brand, but do need to look the same, and I noticed when I replaced my stove and fridge at my old house, there are subtle differences between brands when it comes to the look of the stainless steel, and I'm just particular enough about it, even a subtle difference would bother the hell out of me.

I'm going for stainless because whenever I replace my counters, I want dark counters, and if I stayed with black appliances, the kitchen would be too dark. So, dark counter/stainless appliances/light floor and cabinetry.

Just a suggestion:
Whomever invented the microwave should really consider making one that lets you warm stuff up in aluminum foil without catching on fire.
OR... nuking a carton of eggs without exploding. The microwave version of hard boiled eggs, that is. :heh:

I tried that once as a kid... when microwaves were the size of TVs. What a freakin' mess. :rolleyes2:
