Insomnia Tuesday Thread

Remember when for the longest time the TV market was super stagnant and you only bought a new TV to go bigger and even then, you could only go so big?

How come it took so long to get past tube sets?

I'd have killed for a 43 inch TV when I was 10 much less 5. Think I got a 22 inch tube TV when I was 14 for the room

Yep. His game system is banished to a 43 inch now and he wasn't allowed to play it for like two months. He spiked it into the tv
You're a better man than me.

I would have kept the broken TV for his games until he could afford to buy a new one.

It won't even turn on. I may fuck with it and see if I can get it working now that I've replaced it.

I played video games on a 19" tv in the basement!

On brand, hipster.
It used to be THE thing. If you were driving to Chicago, you had to stop by 3 Floyd's on the way back, and pick up Zombie Dust. Other breweries have just caught up/surpassed since. It happens

I didn't have a TV in my room until my brother came home from college. I think the first TV I owned was a 13" TV/VCR combo.
I think I got a new TV when I got my own room. Played my Sega and 64 on it

We had a TV in the basement for video games. Other than that, just the TV in the living room until we started going to college.

if he can't play his minecraft you can't watch your bachelor.

My sister keeps upgrading TVs through her job (she works at Best Buy and can get TVs for cheap). I haven't bought a TV in years, she keeps handing me down her "old" TVs. Beyond the obvious size difference from the 32-inch to the 50-something inch TV, I don't notice enough of a difference that I care.

You won't unless you're standing too close or using it for some high frame rate computing/gaming that it wasn't made for.

Right now, I only have a Wii. Not gonna happen any time soon.

My roommate my freshman year had a flat screen tube tv and we thought that was fancy.

nice is relative. feel like you could still get a cheap 32 inch HD tv for the price you'd have to pay for a piece of shit goldstar 13 inch back in the day.
I got a 32 inch LG smart TV just for funsies (it sits on my fridge in the office) for $79.

We had one of those heavy fuckers for about a year. Then my one roommate bought a plasma... Thing was probably $2k
