Due to positive tests ? Over/under of 2.5

Interestingly thd top seeded teams will probably be the more susceptible teams as they'll be playing their first round games vs teams from leagues with way worse testing. Just takes 1 Prairie View guy testing negative pre Gonzaga game then positive afterwards to cause a real issue

so if a game is cancelled,
who advances?
the higher seed?
both eliminated?

I don't know.

But I wish I had a job at the NCAA.

You sit on your arse all year, without putting in to place reasonable contingencies for this sort of thing, throw 68 teams out there and cross your fingers that it's going to go without a hitch.

It's weird to me that they won't at a bare minimum have 4-6 teams on standby to play the first round if needed . I know I would rather have my team on the wait list for the NCAA instead of playing the NIT

:L

Don’t even say it. Dam

The team who didn't pop the positive tests
well, that shoulda been obvious -
got confused about the positive test
on the losing team post-game example -

I'm OK with that.

But they should also have had a plan in place that says ... if someone test positive for COVID, then that person leaves Bubbleville. If the others test negative, they play, that kind of thing. Space it out adequately with testing. As it is now, as far as I understand, whether it's Cade Cunningham or a student manager who gets it ... the team is done.

Like I said ... all year.

The planning for this has been embarrassing.

Should got everything done a week early and at least tried to bubble the teams. Or yeah as you said, at least have teams on stand by. Its a joke.

The tourney will become an absolute farce if games start getting cancelled. And honestly, if god forbid a team like Gonzaga or Michgian or Baylor gets removed, they should honestly cancel the tournament.

Yeah instead all the bozos did was delay the start of the tournament by 1 day. And decide to have monday and tuesday games.

Morons.

They actually do have that in place. The first four teams out of the tournament will be on standby in case a team can't play. For example, let's say Ohio State can't play and Duke is the first team out. Duke would be replace Ohio State, and play their opponent in the 1st round. So yes, they would play a 15 seed, then get a 7/10 seed in 2nd round. I'm obviously hoping like hell that doesn't happen. It would throw competitive balance out the window.

Really ? I just read an article saying they didn't have that and if a team has positive the other team just advances. Weird

Just read what you're talking about . Good they at least did tgat . Dont like the 1 bid league portion but its better than a forfeit. Imagine BYU getting Gonzaga 1 seed lol

Yeah they have that in place. But on a smaller scale with the 1 bid league bullshit and only having a couple teams available .

Also, I've seen that if a team does get a positive test within tier 1 personnel, it doesn't automatically mean they are eliminated. Similar to what happened with Purdue earlier this year when Stefanovic tested positive on like a Wednesday and they still played on that Friday.

I am a little worried this isn't a straight up bubble like the NBA was so there is still a chance a team could get eliminated. I'm not sure why they didn't do a bubble format like the NBA?

Oh well. This is what is happening, so I'm just hoping for the best. I'm just glad there will be some semblance of a tournament. Last year was pretty fucking brutal.

Only so many hotels rooms to use for tBubble.

Something is absolutely better than nothing.

My prediction is that a few teams selected on S Sunday need to pull out and are replaced. Once underway, I think we're lucky if we get 2 or less pullouts first weekend, and then the Sweet 16 forward runs without a hitch. Maybe 1 Top 5 seed cancels but the rest are lower.

Honestly, I think that is if we're lucky too. I could be happy with that.

LMAO. They finally come up with a contingency. A week before the start of the tourney.

A team needs five players to play. Geniuses...
