The 10 = 20 NBA Surprise Partner Draft SF2 : UK/Nos vs Ducey/Stakes

Okay, i'll say it for the 74th time. You are penalizing players because of when they were born. Do you really think if all the best players from the 60's and 70's played in todays game they wouldn't have taken advantage of all the things modern players have to help them develop? I mean that's beyond ignorant.

Who gives a fuck about soccer!

No I don't think most of the guys from the early 60s would even be in the league. A generation later a majority yes they would and would be on par with today given all those advantages a generation after that we are talking even Stephen.

That's my point with soccer. It's going to take two generations from the world cup in 95 for us to compete with the Brazils of the world.

That's the issue here man. You're the one name calling and telling me "fuck you" and I'm keeping the conversation to sports.

"I got UK/Nos in this one as Nos didn't draft a single guy from the last 30 years. so as we often state in the nba boards the skill and talent in the nba has depreciated."

Yep, you're a saint!

I think it's funny you see me calling out your opinion as crying. I happen to think it's absurd for a team filled with players from an earlier era to win this if we are including present day players.

And I'm not talking about your nfl team specifically but the general vibe of the whole thing.

One of the very first thing that jumped off the page when I started drafting with you guys was the weird runs on secondary and receivers.

That and just the bizarre lack of logic on certain guys. Totally different logic for Barry Sanders and Emmitt. But both are seen as "no goes" in most drafts.

Ultimately the voting is stale and while i don't really care if i win I think it would be much more fun to shake it up then carry on like this

you have to remember that Nos created our group think... It helps when he has an ALT draft here with us...

I have always disagreed with him... But i also lose more than not...

Gotcha, so it isn't about skill or the ability to make yourself better using everything modern players have access to, it's simply about when you were born. Yeah, makes sense.

I'm not sure why i've spent so much time arguing with someone I have zero respect for. I'll stop now.

That would be me discussing your team. Is that not what we are supposed to do?

It's pretty clear you have a bias for the older generation whereas I skew younger. I have no issues with acknowledging that.

I will just throw a guys resume out there and you tell me if this is an all star and then another guy who can't even get a long term deal right now

12 time all star

18 a game
12 boards
38 percent from the field (a big mind you)

2 time all star can't buy a deal

15 a game
13 boards
53 percent from the field

The entire leagues effective field goal percentage until the 70s gets them at best a D league deal now. The dude up top's only way into an NBA arena is with a ticket

lolzzz yep, you lose because you disagree with me, it wouldn't be because you think Harold Carmichael is the GOAT or draft certain players because they eat chicken wings left handed.

I've won like 38 drafts in 7+ years because I trained you all to think like me? If that's true why haven't I won 100 drafts by now. Also, that has to be the only reason I win right because I brainwashed you all into thinking like me, there's no way I just might have a little sports knowledge and have put together some good teams? Also, i've voted against myself more times in the last month than you or Stakes ever have, yet i'm the problem. Yeah okay.

If someone cannot efficiently put a round ball into a basket at anywhere near what the league average has been for 30 years then no amount of training is going to help them.

That is my opinion yes. And one that I will never veer from. And will not sprinkle magic fairy dust on them and make them a player they weren't when they played.

Effective field goal percentage nos.

Just can't handle the discussion without name calling eh?

In 1990 teams averaged 6.6 three point shots per game. this season teams are averaging 34.9 three point shots per game.

In 1995-96 the league shot .367% from three
in 2021 the league is shooting .368% from three

Players from today have to be better because they shoot more three's. Players from yesterday sucked because they didn't practice shooting three's all day everyday and of course they could never have practiced shooting threes because well, they sucked.

For the record the league had a perfect blend of pace, offense, and defense in the late 80s early 90s. Then Detroit ushered in a more physical brand that ultimately set the game back by the early 2000s. Something had to be done to combat that.

I've said this many times before.

But with that said almost no one takes into account that the zone defenses allow soft doubles that you couldn't run before. So you can't clear the floor for Kareem or Hakeem to post their guy up one on one.

Kareem cannot be guarded effectively by anyone today, yesterday or a hundred years ago...buuut....now he could be doubled much easier.

I've grown tired of you being stupid, go back to crying it's funner!

This is more reflective of you not being able to take criticism man. And it stifles conversation. Which is what the whole damn point of this is. Sports is fun to discuss. You're melting down over one comment.
