"Here comes the sun..." In a day or 2I must be seeing things but it appears to be snowing again
Nope, I permanently work from home -- even before covid. Since 2018You in the office?
Piece of shit. She was basically trying to live off the alimony money after he divorced her, and once that dried up, she apparently had a breakdown or something, and started using drugs.

Yeah, apparently the straw that broke the camel's back for the kids was that she fell asleep behind the wheel driving them somewhere and crashed. Don't think she was high at the time, but it could have been an after-effect of her using. The older daughter went to her counselor or someone like that, and that basically put the kibosh on her being able to see the kids as much as she had been (I think she got them like every other weekend or something after the first breakdown). Now it's like a few hours at a time, maybe once a month or something.Piece of shit.

Yeah, it sucks for them, for sure. I think the youngest has a lot of resentment towards her dad, and views some things through the lens of "it's his fault that mommy and daddy aren't together". The official story (I believe him, have no reason to believe otherwise) is that their mom slept with the neighbors' adult kid, and my now-BIL got to keep the house, and she moved out.I hate to hear it.
I'm a softy when it comes to kids. They shouldn't have to deal with that kind of shit.

We were there a few weeks ago, and the youngest said a few things about how the house was "home" to her, which I hadn't heard her say before. I think she's coming to grips with her mom being a fuck-up, and it's kinda flipped her worldview a bit.
Yeah, the mom was driving and went off the road. After hearing about the car crash (was she in it as well?) I would think it did in fact open up her eyes a little bit
Yeah, the mom was driving and went off the road.
Both kids were in the car. I think the mom was taking them back to my BIL's house when that happened.
Planning to take over the board?Principles of leadership and management.... For 4 hours
