9 pages since I last visited. I'm not reading all that claptrap.

But to hazard a guess, I'm thinking it was mostly

--criticism of huskers1217's twitter posts
--jokes about a) dole chasin' fatties b) moxie being pregnant c) gobigred's virginity d) cam's ginger-ocity

Well, we've groan without you...

Enough tomfoolery!

So I was thinking of getting either the Uber or Lyft app but they both have awful reviews. Uber seems to be doing some shady shenannigans with their reservations and allowing drivers to cancel a pickup-- but you still get charged. Lyft just seems to be a faulty app that doesn't work. Think I'll just stick to calling my old car service

I’ve rarely had any problem with Uber. Occasionally it’s hard to get a ride if it’s a weird time or if there’s a big event going on, but otherwise I’ve had no big issues.

We used to use Uber regularly... when we had things to do. Only issue we ever had was one of our drivers was a guy who'd been previously arrested for stalking one of our associate professors. And another was an ex-cop that had been fired for "sexual misconduct".

I don’t mind a little misconduct along the way. Like my grandma always used to say “I’ll give you more of a tip if you give me more than the tip”

Yer Grammy sounds fun. But the rumor mill insinuates that this misconduct involved underage girls.

What I read was that the app will book a pickup while a driver is still in the middle of another job, which will add to your wait time, and then if you try to cancel and re-book it will charge you a fee. I've never taken a lyft or an uber, so I don't know, but I saw enough reviews that said the same things over and over again.

I think with electronic thingies like rides or food delivery, there are too many ways that the company can charge you without you having any way to fight it. We had this problem with seamless a couple of times, and it was enough to stop using them altogether.

I generally only use Uber when I travel and I don’t do that any more. I’ve had issues with late pickups and drivers who don’t know where the fuck they’re going, but I usually just chalk it up to “it goes with the territory“. The only times I really got annoyed was when I needed a ride at around 5:00 AM and there were no drivers available and one night I got back to DFW kinda late on a Sunday and every driver was booked. I ended up paying like $150 “surge pricing” for a ride that was usually around $50.
