Might as well get a hotel room.I generally only use Uber when I travel and I don’t do that any more. I’ve had issues with late pickups and drivers who don’t know where the fuck they’re going, but I usually just chalk it up to “it goes with the territory“. The only times I really got annoyed was when I needed a ride at around 5:00 AM and there were no drivers available and one night I got back to DFW kinda late on a Sunday and every driver was booked. I ended up paying like $150 “surge pricing” for a ride that was usually around $50.
Enough tomfoolery!
So I was thinking of getting either the Uber or Lyft app but they both have awful reviews. Uber seems to be doing some shady shenannigans with their reservations and allowing drivers to cancel a pickup-- but you still get charged. Lyft just seems to be a faulty app that doesn't work. Think I'll just stick to calling my old car service

Only issue we ever had was one of our drivers was a guy who'd been previously arrested for stalking one of our associate professors.

My understanding was he'd been arrested but not convicted yet when he was our driver (which was mid-2019?). Not sure what happened with him, that case, or his Uber status. An Uber driver who had a stalking charge on their record?!?
Does Uber not fucking screen the people who work for them?
That's, like, one of the worst jobs a stalker could have ... at least for their potential victims.

I got $10K waiting if the "dip" can get to under $10K (OKAY, Maybe $20K) ... And I'll STILL be playing with "house money"!Ethereum and Bitcoin are in a nosedive.
I don't think the cop's gonna look kindly on you, just because you stopped to pick up a passenger on the way back from the bar / strip club / Burning Man...The only thing Uber & Lyft are good for is avoiding jail/fines for a DUI.
