Downtown has changed considerably. Pockets of homeless surrounded by at least 10 new high rises that weren't there 2 years ago. Lots of storefronts were boarded up due to constant vandalism, and McDonalds and the major local drug store have closed down due to rampant crime and homelessness. Lots of exposed female flesh, some of which should never see the light of day...

I was looking at TVs but the ones I want aren't included, so maybe another day. Just noticed that the TV I currently have has a white spot on it so now I have to start looking for a replacement more seriously :sigh:

They had a 65" Sony OLED for $1600 earlier. That was a pretty good deal

I think I want 75" minimum - that will fill the wall I want it on. I could probably go 85" but it will extend past where I'd ideally want it. The one i've seen is about $1,900, but has gone on sale at Costco for as low as $1,700, I think. But if I go amazon and use their card, I'll get most of the taxes paid on it :D

Or I should use the costco visa more and see how much rewards money I can rack up.

Yeah, really! It would have been the third pay period in a row that I didn't get paid on time. Womp, womp, womp :pout: Before we switched to Workday, they would pay us 40 hours/week no matter what, then we had to settle up with them later for overtime/vacation/sick, etc. Now they just don't pay us until the following pay period. Thank my lucky stars that I'm not living paycheck to paycheck anymore because I would have been fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucked!

Quality over quantity

Bought me a new electric toof brush on prime day. That one tooth is going to be the cleanest in the state when I get done with it.

Unless you are into it, being an early adopter is expensive and plague ridden.

The Sony Bravia I bought in 2008 for $2999 is less value than a better functioning $500 Vizio now and I fucking hate that.

Oleds aren't really in the "early adopter" category anymore though. They've been readily available for like 5-8 years. The first one I saw on display at best buy was probably 7 or 8 years ago and was like a 55" $8000 set. My 55" OLED I got like 2 or 3 years ago was like $1400.

They are just premium caliber and almost unrivaled in picture quality.... Although I think some other premium sets are closing the gap yearly.
