Maryland left before the GOR deal was finalized. Maryland paid 31 million for a separate exit fee.Maryland took the bait. It cost them $31 million.
They'd have to look long term in how long it would take to get that money back compared to continuing ACC share until 2035.
Much like the North Carolina schools, the Virginia schools are tied together. The only reason why VT joined the ACC in 2003 is because the VA state legislature threatened to withhold funds from UVa if VT was left in a watered down Big East.I guess. ND isn't coming though so I think Kansas is really the only lock. After that I'm just not sure. UVA would be awesome but I doubt they leave the ACC. After that it's kind of all blah....
I can tell you Purdue is REALLY hoping we add an Eastern team. If we add 2 west of them they're pretty much a lock to head east
Oklahoma and Oklahoma State aren't members of the same university school system. The University of North Carolina @ Chapel Hill and North Carolina State University are both members of the University of North Carolina school system.just like Okie and Okie State?

No clue. The exit fee was actually supposed to be 50 million, but it eventually got negotiated down to 31 million. How much is it now?

IIRC ND is obligated to join the ACC IF they decide to join a conference as a full member til 2030.Have you heard or read something new/official regarding Notre Dame?
This is a new re-alignment situation and adding Kansas opens that door once again.
When Nebraska came the Big 10 was at 11 and needed another to make 12.
Maryland and Rutgers were simply land grabs and an easy 14.
Kansas (good bet) makes 15 so they'll need another.
ND is and always has been a perfect fit for the Big 10.
Warren should at least make the call if he hasn't already.
For whatever reasons, it's like they don't care, they love the idea of being independent. I'm guessing donations make a huge dent of that gap"Aug 3, 2020 — Notre Dame earned $7 million as a partial ACC member, and its deal with NBC pays $15 million annually."
$22 million compared to $54 million in the Big 10? hmmmmm
