That whole area of southeast Oklahoma is full of places hillbillies might rape you, but there is still good country music down there.

Yup.

If you didn't know where you were you'd think you were in Arkansas.

I was talking with someone at a bar in OKC about going over there on weekends with my girlfriend. He said if you're hiking and come across a patch of devils lettuce to 'run don't walk' out of there.

SEC TV deal in 2023, last negotiated in 2008. You guys last negotiated TV in 2018.

SECN good through 2034, although will be renegotiated with UT and OU joining.

The point I was making is that had we the ability to renegotiate TV in 2018, the numbers would have been different. Disney/ESPN is paying 6x what CBS was paying.

Yep. Big 10 was a 6 year deal thru 2024.

I think it'll be a benefit negotiating after the SEC does.
However, I don't think it will be a benefit having Kevin Warren negotiating as opposed to Jim Delany.
Delany played hardball.
I have little faith in Warren's skills. When he speaks publicly he asks more questions than gives answers.

I've noticed we have a shortage of PAC fans atm, and that's too bad because the next conference in the most precarious position is probably them. Instead of a merger the B1G could just go after USC, Oregon and/or Washington. At the same time the SEC is marching west and strengthening its position. It adds up to the PAC possibly no longer having a choice, they may have to take teams like OSU, TTU, Baylor or K-State or the remainder of the Big 12. If they fall behind right now they're likely screwed going forward.

When you are the 3rd or 4th best conference, you don't chant your conference name. As you will find out, you are proud when you are the top dog. It's been a while for you guys, but it'll come back.
lol we trolled y'all by saying it.. even though you didn't want to be there despite having you starting QB and RB throughout the game..

as usual, obligatory;

The PAC should be concerned with the Big 10 poaching Colorado.

Today the Big 12 Conference received notice from University of Oklahoma President Joe Harroz and University of Texas President Jay Hartzell that their universities do not intend to extend their Grant of Rights when the current agreement expires on June 30, 2025.

“Although our eight members are disappointed with the decisions of these two institutions, we recognize that intercollegiate athletics is experiencing rapid change and will most likely look much different in 2025 than it does currently,” stated Commissioner Bob Bowlsby. “The Big 12 Conference will continue to support our member institutions’ efforts to graduate student-athletes, and compete for Big 12 and NCAA championships. Like many others, we will use the next four years to fully assess what the landscape will look like in 2025 and beyond. The remaining eight institutions will work together in a collaborative manner to thoughtfully and strategically position the Big 12 Conference for continued success, both athletically and academically, long into the future.”

Like I said, Texas is the Devil is a simple meme, for simple people to hold on to and avoid thinking about complex issues
U are wrong.. we should be watching out for UT-Lubbock, sir LOL

CBS got the best deal in sports and they screwed it up by not renegotiating with the SEC when they expanded last time. CBS would have had to pay out more but they could have gotten multiple years in return at what would be a massive bargain right now.

Not doing that deal guaranteed the SEC wasn't not going to renew with CBS unless they made an offer that couldn't be refused. The SEC office was pretty livid with CBS on their expansion position.

A pussy is talking shit about someone while not having the balls to tag them.
Figured you were following the thread, as you obviously were. I'll be sure to tag you in the future. Be sure to tag me the next time you crawl into the fetal position and cry about Bama. I mean seriously, don't you agree that your position is a pussy position?

I think it’s a realist position given the halftime leads have gotten smaller and the loss margins have got bigger each time we’ve played. But let’s not derail this thread. Take it to the Kirby Should be Fired thread if you’re feeling froggy

100% fax, right here. ESPN is going to offer 6X what SEC was getting. Throw in OU and UT, perhaps 4 more. Look out, dollars falling out of the sky.

All that said, I hate it. I love my SEC they way it was decades ago. But, not stopping this now.

@Thiefery, in a previous comment you said "The private schools can go fuck themselves". That seems a bit nebulous. Could you please be more clear about how you feel regarding them?

I can understand the UGA tension. This isn't really a good day for them.
