Pretty stunning news, but is a it a bluff? Barca what a shit show of a managed club. Payroll full of stiffs they can't move. Heard he may go to PSG. Is there a salary cap in Ligue 1 like La Liga? How can PSG sign Messi, with Neymar, Mbappe, Donaroma, and a few others with no repercussions?

Team lurking in the shadows is Real Madrid. They ended +300K on the books this year, moved Ramos and Verane, and next season Bale, Isco, Benzema, Casemiro off the books. They could sign Pogba, Mbappe, Haaland next season for $75 total. That is less then what Villa paid this year for their 3 new signings. They seem to have a plan here.

If they were Bolton or Bury, they wouldn't be able to. FFP only applies to the little guys, didn't you know?

What an insane turn of events.

Correct...mentioned that specifically on Sirius yesterday.

Messi to PSG. Done and dusted it appears. For two years plus an option year. If PSG doesn't win UCL this year, it is an utter failure.

Messi, Neymar, Mbappe, Donaroma, Veratti, Hakimi, Marquinos, Di Maria, etc at PSG this season.

With PSG getting Messi and Chelsea getting Lukaku, I'm thinking Bayern might have a way better chance of getting Haaland than last week even, when I thought they had only a remote chance. Manchester City's petrodollars and Real Madrid are the teams I think Bayern now has to compete with for Haaland. Perhaps Manchester United will be in on him too. Perhaps he stays with BVB if they win the Bundesliga (which they can do this year), and make it deep into the UCL and/or win the Pokal again.

Bayern likes to be fiscally responsible, which is admirable. However, they cannot seriously claim they cannot afford Haaland and avoid bidding as a result:

But now find the graph that shows their debts, Barca and Real are practically skint (Juve not much better), hence the whole attempt at the Super League because they wanted the English clubs to bail them out.

Barca will no doubt be better off finacially now with Messi gone (as far as payroll etc), but they are still far from stable, and I would imagine will still be paying Messi in some form or another for years to come, plus the loss of Messi jersey sales etc.

As far as Bayern, they CAN afford to spend like the others, but they don't/won't which is admirable, but yeah can't use it as an excuse in bidding.

Inter must be in a serious financial mess. Spurs reportedly trying to work out a deal for Lautaro Martinez for around 70m pounds.

My 2 immediate thoughts were:

1. Kane must be on the way out, no way Spurs can afford this considering the money they've already spent
2. Inter must be in utter shambles if they are selling Lukaku AND Martinez in a single window

I think Kane goes to either RM or Man City. I think Lewandowski goes to the the team Kane doesn’t go to.

I think after they sell Coman and Lewandowski (pains me to say), and possibly Goretzka, they are in on Haaland.

It's weird to say, but I really hope Spurs sell Kane this window.

Once a player's head has been turned and he starts looking to play elsewhere, its over. You don't get that same emotional edge out of the player that made them great to begin with. Best to sell and get someone who is motivated to be at Spurs.

Well this should ensure Norwich City getting relegated again:

Do they still got that Puki fella?

I enjoyed them and their goal scoring and lack of defense 2 years ago.

Real Madrid holding out for next year when they sign Mbappe and Haaland. They have a ton of players (stiffs Isco and Bale) off the books next year. And their books are not too bad now (unlike Barcelona).

I hate to say it, being a Bayern fan, but is Bayern too small a club for Haaland? One place we know Haaland is not going to is PSG.

Inter has big financial issues. That is why Conte left. Saw the writing on the wall.
