In Georgia it’s a tossup between Hank Aaron and Herschel Walker.

I’d say Hammerin Hank would probably have a slight edge

Definitely depends on how old you are. I would guess that Archie is?

I figured it would be Jim Brown for Ohio, or maybe Pete Rose
I think Bench or Larkin would be more popular than Rose for the Reds. I'm not a Browns fan, so I'm not sure there. I know Bernie was really popular.

But OSU gets the whole state. Browns and Reds share.

Born here, played here, or lives here? Or any?

Another I was thinking about is Jack Nicklaus..
But it's golf, and I'm not sure if his popularity spread outside central Ohio.

Joe Montana for here? Or is that just NorCal?
I’d figure it would be Willie Mays or Jackie Robinson for Cali or some roundball player

It’s tougher to gauge in states with more than one major sports market

Carlton Fisk or maybe Mike Flanagan? Chris Carpenter for the younger baseball fans. Bode Miller for the skiing fans. Hubie McDonough III for the hockey fans, Don Macek for the football fans although Ryan Day is much younger and a national figure now that he is HC at OSU.

I have no idea who would win a poll like this in NH. :noidea:

I’d probably say either Nolan Ryan or Earl Campbell for TX.

Lance Armstrong LOL

There’s zero chance Charles Barkley is more loved in Alabama than Bo Jackson or any number of Tide players
