Our rent is locked in at the same price for next year (starts in October, we just signed the new lease) and are resigning ourselves to what will probably be a BIG hike the next year
That blows. The repair guy had to re-plumb a pipe because the new heater is bigger than the old one, and showed me where the new shutoff valve is. Bless that man, he was so efficient, and even insisted on staying long enough to test it and be sure the water was in fact heating. Apparently his father taught him that and once or twice he did install a new heater that didn't heat water so he had to yank it out and return it.
Yeah, I'm hoping I'm done with appliances dying for awhile. Even though I'm not paying for them out of pocket right now, being without hot water was miserable.
