GAME RICE @ TEXAS | 7CT | LHN

Game was a waste. Offense looked similar to ULL game, just vs a shittier team. Passing game sucks. Defense is suspect. Outside of the playoff bound!!!
waste huh?

Yes.. Rice was amazingly bad. The Rb stole the show, but blocking was sporadic. Pass game was mostly sideways passes. Impossible to judge the defense with Rice down top 2 WRs and down to QB 3. Nice confidence builder, but anyone taking anything away from that score is a putz

I don't get it.. If we had ran only half of what we ended up doing, most would be saying the same thing. When it counted Casey threw downfield and converted 3 and longs (thanks to OL holding).

I'm not saying we are world beaters, but they did exactly what was supposed to happen, and when was the last time that has happened?

I still have my gripes with the OL lineup, where Karic should be inserted immediately, but we'll see how they fare vs Tech this Saturday.

Need Karic.. Casey was Ok. Solid game manger on Saturday, with one pass he probably wants back. I only remember 1 3rd and long conversion (2 with hold), which was a nice throw. Maybe 4 passes that went more than 5 yards downfield, which has been an issue all year. Lot of those runs were plays made by the RBs. Reverse field, broken tackles, and Bijan doing Bijan cut backs. I don’t think those are there vs better teams. Game plan was way more imaginative, where were those Worthy Jet sweeps when Ark was teeing off with run blitzes on 2nd down??? Defense still gave up 4.5 yards per rush. I think that is going to be an issue all year. Keep in mind Texas hasn’t played a QB with a pulse. Played 3 1 dimensional offenses and RBs are averaging over 5 yards a carry vs Texas. A lot of improvement still needs to be made for a 9 win season and I don’t think the Big 12 is very good this year

@Thiefery and @Codaxx

If you had to bet the farm tomorrow, who do you think wins the RRSO next month?

OU… Texas needs to show me they can stop the run. OU is struggling this year, because they are seeing more 2 deep safeties. That’s because the run game hasn’t been as scary. Controlling the run is the key to beating OU.. Offensively, Texas is struggling on the OL. That is an issue. Left side has been a sieve. Still 3-4 weeks away, so things can change, but that is where I am right now

what i love about Casey is that he actually throws to the TEs and RBs out the backfield..where Card seem to lock more onto WRs downfield.

What I like about Casey is that he’s a better QB all the way around.

it would be stupid to bet against ou right now, but it should be a tight game regardless. The OL is the biggest issue for UT right now.. I still think the run defense will eventually be decent for UT by October

Honestly, that was play calling. I don’t think Casey went off his first read much. Brewer throw and the 3 yard gain to Wiley are the only ones that come to mind. That is what happens when Rice plays man to man, which is an interesting strategy for a team lacking athletes. They came into the game giving up 41 pts per and scoring 12.. why I said people are overreacting to beating a shit team

Nebraskas Oline was supposed to be bad and they were but it didn't seem to matter. Game still came down to the end. Spencer Rattler hasn't been as good as the last 3 guys but hell all 3 of them starting in the NFL and 2 of them have statues in front of the stadium. But he need to improve and if he doesn't we will see Calab Williams by the Texas game.

It’s the running game. Riley is at his best when he has a running game that scares people. When he has that he destroys you with all kinds of play action passing. Without it he is just another Air Raid guy. The run isn’t the main facet of Riley’s offense, but it is the piece that unlocks everything

Rice lost their top 2 QBs early in the 2Q. It’s not that they are good, but you can imagine what the 3rd string QB looks like
