I have never mounted one. I’ve caught plenty that were bigger than what I see on most walls, but just never had an desire to mount one.

I’m not sure what a fish that size (cuda) would cost to mount. I know bass mounts can go for around 300 to 500.
This was a 45-inch barracuda and I paid $450 upfront (which I thought was a shit ton).

Then I got this letter in the mail... Good thing I was wearing brown shorts when I read it.

Dang. And you still gotta pay for shipping?!

The weights were up and for some reason he had his hand underneath it when the weights came back down and bam.

So he wasn't the one operating the apparatus...? I think that's where I got confused.

And what idiot sticks his hand in there, when someone else is using it?!?! Dios mio...

It really doesn’t sound that far off. Again, Ive never mounted one, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express once.

I cracked a finger once because my workout partner didn't move his dumbells from under the bench. I went to set mine down - I never threw them - and his were right underneath me. Ring finger got caught between a 35 and a 45. To this day it has a pronounced bump between the first and second joints. That's probably the worst thing that ever happened to me in a gym that wasn't really my own fault (Messed up a knee tryin to squat too much).
I've got one of those pronounced bumps, too!!! We're practically twins!

mine was from punching a steel door to a walk in cooler....

Here we go. What happened to the mahi? Now that’s some good eatin right there.

I'm sending anything I catch next time to you and you can fix it up all purdy like for me.
I’m no taxidermist. I can cut out a piece of wood to the shape I want, screw the top of a deer skull to it, and cover the skull part with velvet for an antler mount, but anything beyond that is out of my league

I could've ate it, but would've lost an hour from my fishing trip. I figured it could be a once in a lifetime thing so why not.

Assuming that's an Atlantic/Carribean/Gulf of Mexico Barracuda, its not a good idea to eat those due to the reef toxins they accumulate over time. They hunt the reefs and are more territorial.

Pacific Barracuda are more pelagic and don't accumulate reef toxins. They are smaller, but they chase schools of smaller fish all over the place. You could only keep them if they were 28 inches or larger.

I've probably broken about 6-8 fingers in some way or another. But, since there ain't much you can do for a broke finger... 🤷
