Big 12 thread

...and yall have achieved that unfathomably well.
We're Texas... still better than oklahoma.. Casey is ready to carve y'all up in two weeks

I am not on board yet, because of Tech and Rice, but the running game is the difference. Sark gave up on his preferred inside running game and has gone to predominantly outside zone, which the OL seems pretty good at. Since that time Texas has 750-770 yards of rushing in the last 2 games. For years I went into games saying Colt/Sam has to be great for Texas to have a chance. If Texas can continue to run the ball at a high level, Texas will be a contender for the Big 12 title. If Texas goes back to the cult of QB offense we have seen for almost a decade, than the Big 12 title is not happening. That is the biggest difference between Ou and Texas offenses right now. OU is reliant on Rattler making plays consistently to score. Texas is asking Casey to make a couple plays. We shall see if that has been a function of opponents or this is a season long trend

OU's OL sucks and our QB is getting defensive. And if you want to make 6 yards just run a slant pass against our D. Wow. But Rattler's my biggest peeve right now. He is popping off that "the fans don't understand anything". Really? And he's implying that since the fans aren't athletes like him they need to knock it off. Okaaaay. Rattler's not smart enough to do my job either but if I'm not running things the way they should be and we're losing money he would see that and be well within his rights to say I'm failing. And no, I'm not big on throwing a freshman QB out there behind this OL. Kansas State on the road is next. And Rattler's never started on the road in front of a full crowd. I wish him the best but damn. :tsk:

I haven't seen anything this pathetic since the John Blake years.
Lincoln is in over his head.
And I don't think anyone could argue otherwise.

He hasn't evolved. His bag of tricks has either been figured out or his personnel aren't up to snuff to run his super duper offensive schemes. Either way HE needs to adjust some things. Another thing is Lincoln Riley is too fond of his players. He doesn't chew their ass out and he doesn't make them ride the pine when they are playing poorly. He's their buddy. You think Nick Saban cares what his players say behind back? LMAO Saban's #1 priority is what they do between the sidelines. Riley needs to get tougher and that would make enforcing some needed changes go down easier with the team too. But even the best of efforts are not going to completely overcome a lack of talent.

We get to see what this shitshow can achieve on the road.

Purple Wizard is a bitch.

Here is the thing, Oklahoma is still unbeaten. As long as you don't lose and continue to get better, things will be fine.

OU doesn't look like a top ten right now but they definitely have the POTENTIAL to live up to their preseason ranking. Teams improve and regress throughout the season. The players are only human after all. I am wondering if the lofty expectations are getting to the players right now.

Our defense is winning our games.

If these guys can't handle being ranked highly then F'em. Maybe we need to go get some players who revel in having pressure to perform. Is the potential there? Who knows now? For Oklahoma to have a realistic chance of winning a CFP game, they needed to be strong enough to prance through the Big XII. Right now OU looks like a fat crippled cat trying to cross I-35.

Just saw that TCU is 7-2 vs Texass since joining the Big 12. Yikes. Thats Vanderbilt vs Texass territory right there.

Big 12 lines:

Kansas at Iowa State (-34)
Baylor at Oklahoma State (-4)
Texas (-4.5) at TCU
Oklahoma (-10.5) at Kansas State
Texas Tech at West Virginia (-7.5)

OU managed just 57 total rushing yards last Saturday against West Virginia. OU only had 18 yards rushing in the first half. This will be Spencer Rattler's first start on the road in front of a full crowd. OU hasn't beaten Kansas State since 2018. And OU's favored by 10.5 points. Hmmmm. So who would you lay $100 on?

In Barry Switzer's Book "Bootleggers Boy" he said there is no shame in losing to Nebraska and Texas, and that when he started loosing to the likes of the Iowa States and Kansas States of the world, is when they should fire him.

Now, think about that when we lose our 3rd straight to Kansas State this Saturday.

think the books and every CFB "expert" feels like the light will eventually come on and the offense will begin to look like 2018 again... so why not this week?

yep, and it's not like TCU has been great during the past 5 seasons either. Sark needs to win this one comfortably, and put Herman further and further in the past

LOL Patterson is such a whiny punk
