Coaching Carousel Scorecard This Season

Yup, he wanted to be a lifetime Bill Snyder like coach. That's a little hard to do in Texas, and you better have a kickass season every 3rd year at least. Patterson has got to regret not jumping ship 3-4 years ago when he was in such high demand.
And he almost had the chance to do it at K-State when Bill retired the first time. People around here still talk about a local reporter who supposedly fucked up the deal for Patterson to come to K-State b y leaking it too early. Then they wound up with Ron Prince.

Wonder who Tech will end up hiring.. I would be all over Traylor, but if TCU does indeed open.. or if Aranda leaves baylor.. Traylor no doubt would like those two spots more than being in Lubbock. Guy is a witch on the trail in East Texas, he would sell driving distance

It hurts the job search and the perceived desirability of a job if you have people turning down your job, even if it is high end people. See Tennessee, Michigan with Hoke/Rich Rod.

If Aranda wants to leave Baylor, I'm pretty sure he would be welcomed back to Baton Rouge.

Yeah... I don't foresee many (if any) NFL HCs going to CFB...

Only chance is when there’s someone who’s a college lifer who jumped into the NFL and isn’t having a ton of success. See Nick Saban.

Urban Meyer and Matt Rhule are the only guys I can think of who fit that description. I know USCs president was reluctant to hire Urban because of his past.

Pete Carroll back to USC?

Pete Carroll back to USC?

Isn’t he 74? I think he’s more likely to retire after the Seahawks stink. Matt Rhule would be an interesting candidate IMO

for some reason, I thought Rhule doubled up as the HC/GM. Nope, he's just the HC. That along with the report that Rhule is open to returning to college under the right circumstances tells me that there is a chance that we may hear Rhule's name a lot during this carousel.

Franklin->USC->Rhule->PSU

Wouldn't be a shocker.

I’m guessing Traylor prefers to stay in Texas because of his connection to HS coaches. I’d think he would prefer one of those over Tech. Which one do you consider the better job…Baylor or TCU?

My Baylor alumn brother in law says scuttlebutt out of Waco is Rhule isn’t that hot on the nfl. Don’t know if there is validity in it or not. He’s an asshole but he’s been right on the Baylor stuff.

no way he walks away from the NFL who he was trying to get in for the past several years. He's in year 2 of his huge deal. If he ever comes back to CFB it will be another 3 years

I think he could go to either.. i don't like either schools but probably baylor due to it being in central Texas. He's been grabbing solid recruits from the San Antonio area and his roots are in east TX. But i still wouldn't rule out Tech, they have deeper pockets and money makes non believers into believers

Is this Dabo to LSU rumor..has any real legs?
