Rich Rod was a FOOL! He had it made at WVU, and they were fun to watch. We had an alumnus lead us 1 game from the NC having a wildly successful run only to leave us for Michigan. if I’m being honest then yes, I do expect a coach that has success at WVU to move on to a bigger program. Hell I think when the Kentucky job opens up Neal is gone. It’s going to take someone to prove me wrong to think otherwise to your question.
I said I agree Campbell is different and he is perfect for a program like ISU ( or even WVU) but when Tx/OU bounce and we are no longer in a Power conference, it may be tough for him to say no when a nice fit (to him) from a bigger program Comes a calling.
I know WVU has had coaches leave (Don't forget Bobby Bowden going to FSU), but I don't think it is imminent.
As for the future Big Xii, I am looking forward to it! The new additions are all solid football programs, and I think games like ISU-Oklahoma State (Fox) last week will become more of the norm instead of always placing OU and Texas in the premium slots (regarless of opponent or intrigue of the matchup) . Of the four new teams, I am most excited about BYU, which I think will give a spark everywhere they play in the Big Xii (like they did @ Baylor this year). I think the Big Xii will be like the Big East (before everybody left for the ACC) with the Champion being really good like West Virginia when they won the Fiesta and Orange Bowls. Those are my hopes anyway! There is good football played in the Big Xii NOW, it's just marketing to highlight two teams (regrdless of whether they deserve it or not) and not geared towards marketing teams based on quality like Baylor and Oklahoma State who are both super good this year. Their games along with OU's should get all of the prime slots this year. Will be curious to see how Texas @ Iowa State is slotted this week, after they both lost today!
