EPL 2021/2022

Conte isn't one to shy away from challenges, but he also comes with pretty high demands (both in the transfer market and in his staff). He isn't exactly a great fit with Spurs but certainly a step up in coaching from Nuno. If Spurs are able to meet his demands, then he will have success there like he has everywhere else he's been.

Hard to pinpoint what Spurs issues are. The 2 things that jump out to me most are that Kane is a shadow of his former self and that they had no real offensive gameplan. Those 2 may go hand in hand a bit. I like Nuno a lot, but he had no chance at Spurs. Came in as their 7th choice manager, players already wanted away from the club, and he had very little time to get anyone to buy in. If they do bring in Conte, he's a manager that will command respect from players, so that much will change. Outside of that, there's a major roster shakeup that needs to happen.

If I were Conte, I think i'd be more intrigued by Newcastle than Spurs. But, that club is miles away from being competitive whereas Spurs aren't that far off despite their recent struggles.
Newcastle issue is they are headed for relegation unless they can bring in some January transfers. January transfer window not always the best way to improve. Desparately take on someone else's junk. Newcastle currently 6 points off of relegation. Being relegated would be pretty catastrophic for new owners because no elite or decent player will go there to play in The Championship. If they go to The Championship, it won't be easy to get out either. Conte would be best for Newcastle to be the next next coach.

Maybe, difference is, Newcastle's owners will be spending, if not this window, during the summer, no guarantee with Levy, even if they sell Kane, which I doubt. There are only a few teams that could spend that much:

Liverpool - don't need him
City - don't really need him, they'll go for Haaling or Mbappe first.
Chelsea - don't need him
Man United - would need to offload a lot

None of the German or Italian teams will spend that much on him.

Barca is skint, Real Madrid isn't much better.

PSG - can't see him going there, especially if they keep Neymar and Mbappe.

I think Kane and Spurs missed the big payday on him by a couple of seasons.

But you're right, regardless if it's Conte or not, Spurs need a huge overhaul.

They should've just kept Bruce until the end of the season and gave him some money for January just to make sure they stay up, then bring in someone like Conte, Allegri, etc at the end of the season.

Makes that situation so interesting to me. I suppose they can pay up and sell new players on the future even if they do get relegated. Strong chance they get back in a season anyhow.

Kane doesn't fit Liverpool that well, their attack thrives off speed. And besides, they would never pay up for Kane. Chelsea got their striker in Lukaku and ManU was never really in the cards anyhow.

City would be his best fit IMO. They still need a striker even though they're doing ok currently. If they are again willing to shell out 100m, I think Spurs will be more open to listen this time.

Either way, the moment a player expresses their desire to leave, a club needs to let them go. I can't think of a player recently that has been unable to leave and still done well the following season. Spurs recently got bit by the same bug in Eriksen. They finally were able to offload him to Inter, but not before a very long 1/2 season of substandard play from him when they were counting on Christian to be their creative force.

The big wildcard is IF they can bring in Conte, how much of a turnaround we could potentially see before the winter window. Spurs league schedule prior to the Jan window is: @Everton, Leeds, @Burnley, Brentford, Norwich, @Brighton, @Leicester, Liverpool, Palace, @Southampton

The Leicester and LFC games aside, that's a very manageable schedule. Depending on the outcome, and with Conte on the bench, Spurs may well be buyers and not sellers this coming window.

Its official. Lets see how this new project goes

Zoooooooouuuuuuuu!!!!!!

I will always love Zouma. I wanted to Chelsea to keep him, but happy for him. The scream he made when his knee went to wrong way like 4 years ago broke my heart. He’s always been such a solid dude.

I was ecstatic when West Ham signed him, and thought Chelsea were stupid for letting him go, solid defender and seems like a good guy.

He is fired according to ESPN. That team is a train wreck. Complete unachievers other than Ronaldo. Without Ronaldo it would be worse. Harry MaGuire is complete junk on defense now. Who takes over??

I think Ronaldo makes them worse. He doesn’t play defense, it’s like playing 10 men until he scores in the 89th.

I have no idea, what coach is available that it took class? Poch from PSG? Doubt he moves, who wants the job? They may not get a miracle worker

Maybe but scoring in the 89 or 90+ is better than the other players who barely score at all. Sancho? Martial? Cavani? Yeah but without Ronaldo they would 8 point less than they have now and I am including the UCL. Those last second goals will get them to the knockout round. Maybe not perfect for United but look at the other players too. Their defense is a sack of shit Ronaldo or no Ronaldo. Sad they have to rely on an aging 36 year old to save their asses in many recent games.

When is the last time Bruno Fernandes won a big game? United or Portugal? Ronaldo wasn't there last year when they got bounced out of UCL in Group Stage. No Ronaldo they would be out again this year.

for sure going to get darker for man utd before the end of the year! going into xmas could be chance to pick up some points to look respectable again. Odd of winning league fallen way down on sportsbetting3.com
