Weight Gain/Loss during the Pandemic, be honest

ya know man, that’s not a good statement. If you get self confidence from lifting then you really don’t have any confidence at all.

Sadly that’s the state of many people. Bad diets, bad relationships, long work hours etc…people aren’t popping prescription drugs at alarming rates because they’re running around bursting w self confidence.

Exercise and especially weight training results in physical change you can see and feel. And often when people who struggle to see change in their lives all of a sudden see physical changes in themselves, it gives them the confidence to deal with other obstacles in their life. Been a trainer for a long time now and I can say without a doubt I have helped many many people find confidence they didn’t have. Most is up to you though and like I said - most can’t be honest with themselves and quit before even trying.

says the guy who videos kids playing peewee football

Technically the league videos the games. I just watch the film. Father/son stuff. Obviously nothing you’ve ever or will ever experience. Women like confidence.

good stuff

a lot of people took steps to build their own home gym during the pandemic and I appreciate that.

I just heard a report that gyms are doing really well now though...so I feel like a lot of that equipment is going to go on Craigslist soon

yeah… no doubt that is case. I’ll get back into the gym too when it’s all over. I picked this stuff up CHEAP! That 4 station machine was 500 bucks! The treadmill will 200. It cost more to move it than it cost bc I paid a guy to move it.

the other stuff I picked up wasn’t quite a cheap but was reasonable. I like the older school stuff and my space was limited so I waited for the right stuff to become available.

I'm probably ~10 lbs. heavier than I was when the scamdemic started. I'm a 36x32 when about a year ago I'd fit right into a 34x32.

That’s often the case w this monstrous equipment. You eventually just want it out. One man’s burden is another man’s goldmine. Hope you get many years out of it all.

yup… that was the story with each piece I bought (except the dumbbells - they were new). Each person just wanted it out

Do deadlifts too if you have the equipment.

don’t have room for long bar and plates. That was the trade off. With the stuff I added it’s pretty tight in there. It’s also why I’ll eventually go back to a gym but this does ok for now.

I was deemed essential, so nothing about my daily routine really changed. I weighed 2 pounds less than I did in March of last year as of this morning, but that was probably just due to the huge dump I took

Fine line between confidence and arrogance

People give themselves too many outs. That’s why they end up in front of some doctor one day giving them bad news. A lot of that can be avoided by being blunt and honest - dare I say a little tough on one self - earlier in life.
