GAME Bedlam 2021: #10 OU (10-1) @ #7 OKST (10-1) | 6:30CT | ABC

Of course they shouldn't have. They shouldn't have gone in 2017 either.

Really, I wouldn't fault LSU for claiming the 2011 natty, they beat Bama in Tuscaloosa and had a far better resume than Bama.

That LSU team also beat Oregon (Pac12 Champion) and West Virginia (Big East Champion) in the regular season.

That LSU team also beat Oregon (Pac12 Champion) and West Virginia (Big East Champion) in the regular season.
Not to mention an extra data point in the SECCG that Bama got to avoid(They would have killed UGA too, but an extra game against a team with a pulse that had a lot of talent is extra wear and tear)

When OU and UT made the decision to go to the SEC, they should've realized that the B12 wouldn't be too happy. All one need do is look at the present B12 promo commercial. Both UT and OU get a quick flash of their mascot(Boomer and Bevo)....less than 1 second. Every other program gets multiple shots of their program....an average of over 3 seconds each. If one thinks this didn't filter down through the entire system, including officiating, then one is truly naive. Why would the league want to in any way promote or encourage those that abandon it? Moving forward, obviously, the league wants to 'reward' those that are staying put. Brand name...makes sense.
Having said that, OU didn't do enough to win last night. Zero offensive scoring in the 2nd half(def safety and special teams td). Even with questionable officiating, should have been able to score at least once. Meanwhile, OSU did just enough to win. Those that are realistic have known OU was sub par all season, scraping by in many of it's wins. Just as sometimes the final score doesn't reflect how a game went, OU's final record will not be a true reflection of how the season went. The league in general was down this season. I don't personally think any B12 team is in the top 4 in the nation, but that will be up to the CFP committee to decide in another week.
Some OU fans want LR gone. Some have questioned his fire. Looks to me like he has had plenty of piss and vinegar the past few games. If he does go, who do we get that is better? There are very few coaches out there that have his success rate, and they are quite content where they are. Every OU fan is desperate for another Natty. Understandable. About 130 programs out there all want the same thing. The reality is there is a mere handful that can deliver. The SEC should improve OU. Better level of competition. I think OU should make the jump asap...or be prepared to deal with the current mode.

Switching coaches right now (unless you just have an all-star pick out there) would be the worse move going to SEC. Texas A&M did it but they got lucky to land Johnny Manziel. Without Manziel, the Aggie move to the SEC would have been very rough.

Whole lotta Irish fans were calling for Brian Kelly's head in the beginning and that embarrassing Alabama ass-whoopin in 2012 NCG didn't help matters.

It took BK a few years of some self-reflecting and adjustments in his coaching style & staff to work it all out and ND is back to prominence, once again.

Kelly still has some 'issues' in winning on the big stage, but I think most Irish fans are satisfied with keeping him around at this point - even tho some do still want him gone.

In Cincy I think. IIRC, G5s all have their CCGs at home sites.
Well, hell ... if it's bein played in Cincy, that changes a lot of the dynamics of that game with getting to play it on home turf.

That was an amazing game that is a contender for game of the year in my book, extra sweet with Oklahoma missing the Big 12 CCG and Playoffs, with Clemson & OSU also out, now we will have a different ACC, Big Ten, & Big 12 champion in FOUR F**KING YEARS! This is phenomenal and wonderful for this sport, and for once this playoff will be worth watching. for 1-2 games. Just gotta hope Kirby beats Saban for once.

This is so fucking awesome.

I don't think y'all understand how this feels for me. The last time we won this one I wasn't even a member of the other board yet. We had a couple of close calls recently but I was so sick and tired of it. Mason Rudolph and James Washington beat everyone on the schedule for 3 years but ran into back to back Heisman winners for those assholes. 2013 the refs completely fucked us. Gilbert had an interception late and the refs fucked us saying he dropped it. The year before we beat the shit out of them the entire game before Blake fucking Bell turned into Tom Fucking Brady in the 4th quarter. This year on paper it should have been over at half. Freshman QB vs this defense and our offense is better than their defense. Any other name on the helmet and it's 24-3 at half and the score is closer than the game. But these fucks, man we just have this 100 year old mental block. We fucked up going into half. We were about to take control of the game and then there was a turnover and it was tied at half. The first 5 minutes of the 2nd half were typical. Got a stop but they pinned us. Then the refs ate their whistle on a obvious offsides that led to a safety. Fucking bullshit but the refs usually love ou so I'm used to it. Then we get a stop and pull the ultimate poke choke on the return. It goes from us being up 7 to down 9 in 3 series. 16 points and at that point I figured we would get 14 back and watch them end it with a game killing drive late. Normal for us. We keep it close but something that would be a moral victory 30 years ago but bullshit now.

The thing is, during that clusterfuck we got two stops. Then we got another and did the same the rest of the game. The refs call an obvious offsides and Pressly let's the ball go and we don't allow a point in the 2nd half. Hell Sanders tucks the ball and runs when he had a free first down instead of making a stupid pass into double coverage and this is a 20 point statement game instead of a 4 point barn burner. Ifs and nuts and again, if it's anyone else than ou this game isn't close, but fuck we have had so many shitty games against them.

The only people who know how this feels for me right now are Michigan fans. But they had their way against Ohio State 15 years ago so not really. Imagine going through what Michigan fans have gone through the last decade, only instead of a decade its been a century. I'm a man I'm 41. In my lifetime I've experienced this win 8 times. And that's almost half the wins that my team has seen in 120 years.

This is so fucking sweet.

I was so happy while reading this. Even me, a person who is 1200 miles away from Oklahoma, and never really cared all that much for it, was on my feet jumping up and down in those final minutes. A real genuine, hard fought win for a school that is beaten down too much. You and your program truly deserve the best, and I hope whenever OU leaves the Big 12, the Pokes get the last laugh in Bedlam, that would make it even better.

Spoken like a true also-ran.

Congrats on nothing.

I kind of wish the SEC would dump Vandy and add Oklahoma State. The Cowboys are a good program and probably the best all-around program still left in the Big12.

Congrats on your ill gotten gains goatsuckers.

Committee had it out for us this year as well as Bowlsby’s Zebra Farm.

This win in the big picture is like a bandaid on a amputation.

Weak.

Yeah on paper, OSU is a much better choice on Vandy, though from an outsiders perspective, it's understandable that OSU fans would want to avoid the Sooners & Longhorns and see if they can be the dominant B12 program for a change.

Nope, me congratulating a team for winning their 19th game in a lopsided rivalry has nothing to do with Penn State. Just lie down on the couch and cry some more, there's always next year and a new conference.

can't believe they are blaming officials for this loss.. like they haven't benefited ou for the most part for the past SEVERAL years

Goatsuckers best team ever and you still needed Uncle Bob to help ya IN YOUR OWN HOUSE. LOL!!!

Y'all are worse than Texas. So used to getting every single call but if it doesn't go your way it's because of the refs.

Enjoy the Alamo Bowl

I wanted a blowout but hot damn the squats bitching about refs in a game that wasn't as close as the final score is just so so sweet.

We gifted them 9 and missed a FG. This should have been a 2 score game.
