Off-season transactions thread

Pirates keeping the Yoshi, 1-year $4m. Hilariously was their best power hitter in 2021 even though he joined in August.

Red Sox close to finalizing a one-year deal with Michael Wacha. He hasn't even had an ERA+ above 90 since 2018. Alright K/BB numbers but he gives up too many home runs.

Marte's coming off a great season but he feels like a regression candidate. .372 BABIP in 2021 is well above anything from 2017-20 and outperformed his Statcast metrics (xBA, xSLG, xwOBA). To his credit, he did put up the best walk rate of his career by a wide margin (8.2%, career 5.3% and career high was 6.1% in 2014).

I don't think the Mets lost any draft picks from any of the signings, not to mention they got one from Syndergaard and they'll get one after Conforto signs. They also get a compensation pick from failing to sign Rocker in the recent draft.

nice pickup for the Mariners

Looks like they gave up some spare parts they won't miss for him. Frazier's all-star start was a bit flukey compared to the rest of his career but he's still a decent starter/useful utility guy.

Couple of steals by Marlins so far

7 years for Semien is ballsy especially at that price

Rangers get John Gray

Over 40 million per for a guy in his late 30’s that bitched out of his team’s biggest game because of fatigue on full rest.
Over 40 million per for a guy that plays every 5 days and in an era where he is only expected to pitch 5-6 innings.

Don't get me wrong, he had a great year last year. But that's scary money to be handing out to a 37 year old pitcher.
