JBJ back to Boston in deal with Crew
In a somewhat stunning development, the Red Sox are getting their outfield wizard back. Late Wednesday night, the Sox and Brewers agreed on a trade that brings Jackie Bradley Jr. back to Boston in exchange for power-hitting outfielder Hunter Renfroe. In the deal, the Red Sox are also getting two

What a weird trade, though I imagine the prospects were the main driver in this one. As much as I love JBJ I'm not sure I like forcing Kike away from center. I'm not sure there's really a defensive upgrade and you're moving Kike off his best position, not to mention there's an offensive downgrade. But then again, they probably had to take on JBJ to get Hamilton and Binales. Hamilton looks more like a utility guy but Binelas has some intriguing power potential. But if JBJ is going to be used as a 4th OF I'm fine with that. I just wonder where Duran would fit into the OF configuration (if at all)?
Renfroe was a solid player especially for the $3M they had signed him for, but he was kind of frustrating to watch. Great arm but he seemed to struggle with balls in the gap and weird bounces. Good power hitter but it came with a pedestrian .315 OBP (only his second OBP above .300 in his career).
