I honestly hope Venables does the job for you guys that most folks (myself included) think he will. Has he hired an OC yet? With him, you'll have defense covered...a top notch OC should have you guys near or at the top of the SEC.
Meeting OU in the playoffs would be great. At this point though...I just want us to get there. lol
And according to them...he's everything their little hearts desired...you'd think they'd be happy.

Jeff Lebby was signed today. And Jerry Schmidt is coming back home to OU from aTm.......which might mean as much as any coach on the staff because we had just gotten way too soft after LR ran him off due to a personality conflict between them.

It is quite humorous, hearing OU fans like Goldberg and tan Pucco tell us it was a business decision (which it was) for OU and UT to bounce from the B12 to the SEC during the summer only to freak out crying like a jaded Ex on Lincoln doing the same thing. Very humorous actually…..
We shall see, for as shitty as Helton has been he still recruited and put players in the NFL. Not Alabama level but Oklahoma isn’t exactly Alabama either. Oklahoma does not have a QB, defense wasn’t very good and Venerables isn’t some one year wonder. Having to completely flip the the team from formidable on offense and Sun Belt defense.

CFB is sooooo convoluted now, nothing is gonna really surprise me these days...
I read that some players are being told that they would be better served to enter the portal and find another opportunity. Slovis may be one of them. Apparently, the coaches have already been watching a lot of tape and have a pretty good idea of who they want to keep.
Even if Helton was still the coach, I think Dart would be starting next year. He has something extra that Slovis just doesn't.
I also saw that it looks like Riley is going to retain Donte Williams. That's big, imo.
