Has OD been interviewed for the job yet?
All those hours playing NCAA on the Xbox finally pay off.

“they finally caught on to the read option, so now we’re gonna run the pretend we’re throwing, but really scramble around everyone play.”

Lake was supposed to be more “aggressive” and willing a little more greasy with recruiting, seemed to be the unspoken promise. He clearly just sucked at it. His head scratchingly shitty OC hire and just general incompetence when it came to managing the whole program were some pretty big hurdles to overcome, for sure.

Not knocking the hire, seems solid. Those wounds are just pretty fresh, I suppose.

I think Lake could have been more successful if his OC hire wasn’t that bad. Was Lake ever consider a great recruiter when he was the DC? I don’t remember hearing that but I could be mistaken

My understanding was always yes. But it seems like maybe not.

DC recruiting and managing all recruiting as HC are not the same thing.

Lake was solid at one, not so much the other.

Lanning to Oregon is happening according to Feldman

Oregon could use some serious work on the D. Will be interesting to see if they can do so without losing any stability on the O.

UW is in the opposite shape, team with pretty solid D roots with an offensive coach coming in and no idea who the DC is yet.

OC hire is important IMO. It would be great to have a former HC who also has experience calling plays

It's coaching. Kirby is the best recruiter we've ever had by a large moment, but he can't match wits with head coaches of teams with a similar talent level.
It is wild the amount of elite recruits the state of Georgia has and Georgia being the only actual top program (i know GT is there, but they aren't a football school).

This just in -- Dan Lanning had a sit down with the team telling them he has enjoyed his 12 hours as Oregon Coach, but Bethume-Cookman has offered him a head coaching job and he will be taking his talent to Daytona Beach. :hide:

Somebodies been drinking OD's White Claws.

Oregon isn't near as big as they think they are. They might be big compared Oregon St. or something, but they aren't all that big.
I didn’t say blue blood, but it is a high profiled job that IMO a resume like Kellen Moore shouldn’t be offered a job at.

Does this mean its time for the hicks over in Athens to see agent Muschamp fuck up everything and set it ablaze? If so, this may end up being my favorite hire.

Huh?

The guy's a perfect example of a great coordinator, yet was in over his head as a HC. The pile of carcasses is deep.

Who's defenses has he fucked up and set ablaze as a coordinator?

Don’t underestimate Agent Muschamp’s abilities. He has you right where he wants you

Job is Glenn Schumann’s if Kirby is smart, so it’ll probably be Muschamp. Hearing Mike Bobo will be brought back in some capacity. Get all the mid 90’s UGA players that turned to coaching on staff

Chip was a no nonsense guy, didn’t smoodge the boosters, didn’t put up with the media, he did his work and he won. He was so successful the people wanted more of Chip, wanted him to sit down and explain his success, share his vision, mingle, etc. Chip didn’t want to do that because he just wanted to coach. But in doing this some people were put off by it, felt like he should’ve done more within the community, been nicer. Dude just wanted to coach football and win. Was amazing at it.

So naturally upon his return the same people who were hurt he wasn’t giving them time are bemoaning about it. Because they liked how friendly Helfrich was, Taggart was and Cristobal was.

Chip is here to coach and win football games.
Good luck with Dan.

LOL.
