Festivus Eve Wednesday

I have a really good friend that is super sick from Covid rn. Not doing well. Made me think about @RobBase (c) , not from the friend side, but the sick side. Hope youre doing alright fuckhead!
Rob hasn't been on in 11 days? @broncosmitty have you talked to that big, giant galut?

Yeah, my wife's cousin's GF just popped positive when she got to NJ. He (cousin) has no symptoms and is testing negative, so it's kind of weird that he doesn't have it, unless maybe she caught it that work the day before she left and wasn't shedding enough virus to get him infected.
I've read estimates that potentially up to 30% of the population have some natural resistance from previous coronavirus exposure (prior to COVID-19). As I understand it, it's not an immunity, but a natural resistance. The estimates were based on banked blood that had been drawn prior to the COVID-19 dealio.

I know people who slept with their COVID positive spouses and never got it.

If omnicron is truly a much less serious strain of covid we should be gleefully spreading that shit everywhere.

7-day average cases were 42% higher at this time last year, and 7-day deaths were 134% higher.

Real numbers and perspective are important.
References are important too

You need me to do the math for you too?
No, just wanted to see where you were pulling your data. Thank you. Don't be so defensive.

It feels like it's everywhere right now though, and I stand by that. Time to get back to social distancing.

Not defensive, just trying to be helpful.

I am as distanced from you as I can be.

Check out the spread in Denmark, one of the most-vaccinated nations on Earth at nearly 80% of the population.

fuck me, fell asleep watching the matrix before. just put it back on and fastforwarded to see where i was at, still 90 minutes of this shitfest to get through.

Really hope you're joking

Not at all

Having a substantial portion of the population all get it nearly simultaneously would eventually drastically slow covid transmission rates.

Without considering the deaths and hospitalizations that go along with it
