He had his ups and downs. The Braves wouldn't be inquiring about Olson if they were sold on Freeman.

Always have a backup plan. Freeman is still a free agent. It’s no guarantee the Braves can re-sign him

A low BABIP in the first half(which usually means bad luck) that evened itself out in the second half like it normally does is a sign of decline?

The same thing happened to Ryan Braun. Yes, it is a sign of decline.

You’re really struggling with this, aren’t you?

Freeman is a FA. He wants 6 years…taking him to his 38th year. Teams are getting smarter on these types of things, because when the drop off does happen (it hasn’t with Freeman yet) that’s it.

They are being wise and having a backup plan in the likelihood they get in a bidding war with deeper pockets teams.

Flipping Freeman for Olson at this point would not be a bad strategy. But, it doesn’t mean Freeman is done.
 
Moving on from Freeman would be a good way to piss off a fanbase right after a WS though. Not as scorched earth as the Marlins selling off their entire team, but people wouldn’t be happy
