Why do they call it an opt-out if the option is controlled by the player, but just an option if it is controlled by the team? Couldn’t a team option be referred to as an opt out as well?

I think Simmons for $4M is a steal for the Cubs. bat is blah, but great defensive player. I think there's a decent chance he gives you 2+ WAR. Even with a 57 OPS+, he still managed 1.5 WAR... I think he will hit better than that.

only issue with Garver is health, but he has raked at a position that isn't exactly full of good hitters

Kiner-Falefa's a nice player, but he has an 81 OPS+ over 1500+ PA now. his bat probably isn't going to get much better
