Jim Harbaugh gone to NFL

And it sucks to have to talk about the past, right? That is what OSU fans would say to UM fans, all we do is talk about the past, now the shoe is on the other foot and that is all you are doing.
Difference being, the past you guys need to talk about was 100+ years ago. These guys are talking about two years ago. Big difference.

Well Ohio State played a game missing 20+ players & the HC. JH was scared of the Buckeyes in 2020. So he refused to play them.

It was Maryland, not Ohio State that cancelled. But I can see how it would be easier for you to blame the Buckeyes even though they didn't cancel that game.

Ohio State "refused" to play Indiana in 2020? Very odd thing for you to say considering the Buckeyes beat the Hoosiers 42-35.

UofM finally beats Ohio State and some of you fans are acting like ann arbor now owns Columbus. Funny stuff.

It's interesting that JH has now lost his OC & DC though.

But a legit congrats on that long awaited W. Last season UofM were the better, more experienced and hungrier team and it showed on the field from start to finish. I expect things to be different this season when they play in Columbus.
Ok. So Ohio State was afraid to play Illinois, because OSU cancelled the game with them. Sorry for mixing up the team OSU was scared to play. See how ridiculous that sounds?

UM only played 6 games total in 2020 and other than the first game, they were missing a ton of players in each. That's what Covid did to teams. Personally I think it is ridiculous, but you play the hand you are dealt. The B1G makes the rules, not the schools.

Oregon had previously lost a coach to FSU. Oregon does not belong in the conversation with USC, Oklahoma, or Notre Dame. PERIOD!!

Your original point was that all coaches out recruiting are going to start telling recruits and their parents "No big deal. I may not be there but you can always transfer out if I leave"

That is dumbfuckery of the highest order.
I just think you're wrong. Coaches aren't sticking around programs like they used to. At any given school around the country, it's more likely than not that within 4 years you'll have a different head coach at most schools.

You think Nebraska is going to have the same coach in 2 years?

I'm pretty sure there was some controversy this year with the Michigan hockey team canceling games as well that came into question. Not a good look when the school was being accused of running from a football game

Nebraska will have a new coach because the one they've got now gets fired. Not because he got lured away.

You're insane.

I'm going out on a limb and saying the UM hockey team, which has an embarrassment of riches, isn't cancelling games just because.
Remember when it was a big deal when OSU had the #2 and #3 pick in the NFL draft with Chase Young and Jeff Okudah. Michigan's hockey team had the #1 pick overall, to go along with the #2 pick, the #4 pick and the #5 pick. They all play for Michigan right now. They also had the #24 pick too.

I don't follow hockey much, but if they are cancelling games, my guess is, it has to do with guys on their team playing in the Olympics, coupled with Covid. Remember hockey only has 16 scholarships I think. If 1/3 of those players are at the Olympics -- it doesn't leave you much room to lose players.

They canceled against Western Michigan (the current #5 team) citing health and safety protocols but played the night before against Michigan tech. Not a good look no matter your excuse

Do you think Ryan day will be at Ohio State in two seasons?

The players have to test daily -- if you test positive, you are out. Not much you can do. Why did Ohio State cancel their game against Illinois in football last year? It is what it is. It happens with the ridiculous rules they have for Covid.

They canceled western michigan before they played Michigan tech and still played Michigan tech. It was a bad look

I don't know the logistics of when these games were played. If it was recently, like last week -- My guess is it was cancelled as the state of Michigan had snowmageddon and everything was shut down. I was stuck with my damn kid for 3 days last week. If it wasn't last week -- then i have no clue?

It was late December and they were playing short handed

Only way he isn't is if he loses to UM the next two years and they fire him.
Or...the NFL comes calling....or a guy like Saban retires and Alabama comes calling (or any number of other programs he might be interested in that we have no idea about). OSU suffers from the same problem Michigan does -- it's really hard to recruit the same level of kids to a midwest school as a southern school.

Ohio State has had top 5 classes in 8 of the last 10 years. They are most often #2. I don’t think they are having a tough time recruiting.

Is Ohio State/Illinois the same as Ohio State/UofM? Nope, not even close. Let's be honest here. JH knew if his crew would have played Ohio State in '20 they would have gotten crushed.

Ohio State/Illinois simply doesn't have the history, significance or importance of Ohio State/UofM. Before this stupid conference division nonsense how many time has the conference championship been decided by the winner of Ohio State/UofM compared to the winner of Buckeyes/Illini?

But we can only go back & forth about this so many times. A legit question. Why did JH lose his OC & DC?

They are....but they aren't Alabama, they aren't Georgia or even Texas A&M at this point.

I’m glad you can stop using the difference in recruiting as an excuse when Michigan losses to Ohio State.
