The best late inning defensive replacement of all time is still a late inning defensive replacement. If I had my way, Hester’s position along with kickers and punters wouldn’t exist at all.

This is the general argument that you should have made then because Guillermo Heredia is really not the hypothetical player that you are describing. Neither is Lenny Harris on the PH side.
