Iowa had 57 points at halftime. They currently have 83 points with 11 minutes to go.

During his introductory press conference at Wake, Danny Manning said that his program was going to hang his hat on defense. His best defense at Wake was rated #125 on kenpom. This is why the whole "defense is just effort" talk is silly. It isn't about his effort, it goes way deeper than that. There's a reason why shitty coaches that recruit relatively well tend to have poor defensive teams.

Did you watch the game? MD played no D. Didnt even attempt to. Iowa couldve scored 130 if theyd wanted to. Had 101 with 7 minutes left when they put in the scrubs

Wouldve liked Fran to leave Bohannon in til he got his 11th 3 for the B10 record. Didnt play the last 10 minutes

nah, i just saw the score

but i had to make that post b/c Manning is coaching Maryland. I think Manning was somehow a worse hire than Jeff Bzdelik. Dude just sucks.

Theres really no reason MD should be 11-13 with Russell, Ayala, Scott and Wahab

Turgeon leaving Maryland b/c of how toxic the fans are will never not be funny to me.

and tbh, i highly doubt Maryland is going to land someone better than Turgeon.
 
Man im really intrigued by Rutgers. Their metrics ars awful but theres no way in hell their resume isnt worthy of being in the tourney. Probably quite safely . Only 6 teams in CBB have more Q1 wins than Rutgers

Theyre kind of the anti Iowa

Lucky for them, they still got lots of games left to win and improve it. Tough schedule coming up though.

Gotta get the Wisco and Illinois home wins.

Yeah i mean it makes you wonder how many good wins you need to make up for a bad loss

Even after today their NET will still be in the 80s and while i get theyve got 3 bad losses they also have 6 Q1 wins

Seems really low in NET given the resume

This game will likely hurt Wisky more than it helps Rutgers

Yeah, I tend to give teams a pass for early losses if they make up for it like Rutgers has. But apparently I’m in the minority

Agreed. Early losses hurt but they've rebounded nicely

I would say they need to get it into the 50s to get a chance.

40s to feel any kind of safe at all.

Shocking its so low.
 
The fact that RU is still considered out furthers my belief that we need to rethink the criteria being used

Iowa has 0 Q1 wins and theyre top 20 in every metric out there. Its very weird

Its insane really. The LOWEST ranked NET team above them with 6+ Q1 wins is Marquette ( 7 Q1 wins ) at 24

Thats a 70 spot difference.
 
Nice to see gophers win one

PSU fell apart final few minutes and was undone by turnovers
 
Rutgers has six bad losses. A couple of those early season losses are extremely bad. They have a lot of good wins, but having six bad losses is inexcusable.

They also lost to the Gophers withough 3 of their 4 best players and only 7 players overall.

That one will come back to bite them

Guess it depends on what the committee deems a bad loss. Traditionally itd be Q3 or Q4 losses in which case RU only has 3. If they include Q2 then itd be 6 but that would be unisual although theres obviously a difference in Q2 losses when you look at them indivdually
