Big Ten Commissioner Kevin Warren has taken a lot of flak in his short tenure in the position. But the payday he just got the conference may have just

"On Wednesday, the Sports Business Journal reported that the Big Ten will become the first college conference to top $1 billion per year in its upcoming TV deal. The number will more than double the $440 million that the conference currently gets from Fox and ESPN."

Warren took a lot of flack for his handling of the Covid year. My concern was that he'd blow the TV deal, but it seems he's every bit the skilled negotiator that Jim Delany was.
 
First, all the rest are just following the mighty B1G.
 
The SEC already renegotiated their deal.

Sure they now want to go back to the negotiating table with the additions of TX/OU, but ESPN holds all the cards.

I've always said it's better to follow the SEC in these negotiations. It's easier to 'one-up' them that way.

Well the SEC contract with Disney is thru 2033/34 at $300 million/year. i.e. $3 billion over 10 years.

As I said Disney holds all the cards at any renegotiation table. They aren't gonna give the SEC another $700 million/year because..... They Don't Fucking Have To.
