Big Ten Basketball

Has there ever been a guy who won NPOY but didnt win his own CPOY??

I could legit see that happening this year in the B10

Although i still think Tshiebwe or Agbaji wins NPOY
Davis deserves the award in my opinion.

IDK how it doesnt go to Tshiebwe at this point.

Because hes averaging goddamn 17 and 15. Along with 1.5 blocks and steals.

Hes a complete game changer no a team that has one multiple games without their two best guards.

Abaji has really high efficiency as well so it could go to him. But I'd be decently surprised. If he was more of a playmaker maybe. But he barely averages more assists than Oscar.

he'a also super efficient from the field. 60% from the field, while Davis only shoots 44%. Tshibwe has excellent efficiently for his position, Davis does not.

Yup. And Davis is 33% from 3 and barely makes over 1 per game. That simply isnt going to move the needle over Tshibwe's crazy stats.

Agbaji is at 43.3% and makes 3 per game while still shooting 50% from the field. Thats the type of effeciency to get the name in the convo.

I think Oscar should and will take it, but Agbaji is the only challenger. Davis will win B10 POY.

Hawkins for Illinois has absolutely zero control or finesse to his game.

He moves 100 mph and with reckless abandon everytime he gets the ball.

Frazier and Curbello play the same way.

In an impact sense, I would vote for Jabari Smith.

But he doesn't have the numbers to win as a frosh.

I honestly dont even think Davis is the best player in the B10 let alone the country

Im obviously biased but imo Murray is far more versatile on offense AND defense and more efficient too

I think hes worthy of BIG10 POY though. They are about to win at least a share of the league. Hes been huge in all their big games against good teams. Elite in many of them.

But saying he should be national POY is pure homerism and/or a flat out ignorance to the rest of the basketball.

Lol at PennState getting their shit pushed in by Nebraska

I get that. He will probably win it based on Wisky team success. Bur imo he hasnt been the best player in the league. Ill still have no issue if he wins it as thats usually how it works

I'd argue he may have been.

They showed the stats during a Big10 game and he was clearly in front of the pack in terms of PPG against quality oppenents. I think it was liek a full 9 ppg more than Murray.

Murray is really fucking good. But he also had a lot of inflated games against fucking horrendous teams that simply dont have guys who can be close to his size.

Murray was behind Davis, Ivey, Cockburn and Liddell when looking at the games against the field or whatever criteria it was for strength of oppenent.
