Under the Porch with the Guide Bear!

I just remembered why I logged on! It's because me & the Guide Bear, we both want to audition to be on the 'crew'.... The Guide Bear is in for sure I bet but I'm worried I won't pass muster because of my temper tantrums and inappropriate outbursts like on Jesus'es birthday... Bad Guide 🐻 Bear.

I'm concerned my boobs are gonna get in the way of joining the crew. I'm not weighing myself again until my next in house VA appt in March.

I'm working on it guys! And besides, it's my understanding that someone else here at the the hoop, another man, is bustier than me!

@Handicappers , can you confirm or deny that last bit of disturbing information? Thank you advance, Kind Friend!
The Crew loves tits. We also love guide bears. Please get with @Peter Gozintite so you can get fitted for your unitard onesy

All right, good morning kind friends! I got my sleep schedule back in order, I like getting up early. The problem is sometimes I get all wrapped up in whatever I'm doing and the next thing I know, It's 3 or four am Eastern. And the next thing I know after that is, I wake up fully clothed and I wasn't even boozin it up! At all! I kinda like sleeping in my clothes, I did it again last night. Talk about waking up ready to roar!

So today friends, the Sunday Church Service Under the Porch has been postponed due to the fact that High Bishop Two Canes is coming down to my Labor Dungeon to baptize my Goldfish, how very exciting! I hope he brings his fuckin 'incense'!:hippie::laugh:

Dude get some sheetrock or osb on that ceiling.
But the entire basement is unfinished. However, I was considering something like that just in the tank area. And @Fish , I'm actually a huge fan of plastics in certain applications. And it does do a decent job used for trim, it's just that I prefer to work with wood.

It was that heavy as hell, saggy ass 'plastic lumber' that was being used as an alternative to build picnic tables and park benches that really bothers me! This was probably 25 years ago but that stuff was way heavier than wood and it needed much more bracing than wood because it lacked stiffness.

But back to the ceiling. When I made all the drawers in my kitchen I lined the bottom of the drawers with this thin white plastic and this stuff comes in 8'x4' sheets, it rolls up for an easy haul in a car, it's very light weight and my plan is to use it on the ceiling in my fish tank area. And seriously, thanks for helping me decide how to fancy up my fish area! It will happen.

And good morning, friends! I been up for a while now but damn was I ever sore and stiff as a board when I got up. I been going up and down the stairs like nobodies business this past week or so and I also been climbing up and down my black & yellow toolbox/step stool to work inside my tank. I feel much loosened up by now though, this fish tank hobby has me wrapped around it's little filter! I'm semi-cray cray about it!

Mkay, picture time followed with explanations. I'm surprised how much I really like my Goldfish!

Ah carp! The pics aren't ready yet. I will be back with pics in a short moment or three.

Okay, pics!
some gravel.jpg
^^^This is a lousy picture but what is happening here is on Sunday evening I had one bag of gravel from a few years ago and I made a tub to rinse it in... before that I put the landscape fabric on top of the lava rock and then poured small piles of gravel over it. I need at least six more bags of gravel from Home Depot. They are 1/2 cubic foot per bag but I bet the bags weigh around 60 pounds, pretty heavy!

The water temperature is 58 degrees and to me that doesn't sound too cold but when you stick your arm in there, it gets uncomfortable in a hurry! And my Goldfish are pretty active and are eating. They all hang around each other except for one, the smallest one hangs alone most of the time. It's going to be interesting to see how they act when the water warms up.

A complete pre-filter.jpg
This is my latest version of a pre-filter made from a 2 liter pop bottle. It is a complete filter that has 4 chambers. I cut the bottoms off the bottles, the bottoms then fit snug inside the bottle to form separate chambers and the top chamber is a plastic plant pot that happens to fit perfectly snug on the bottom of the cut bottle - which is now the top of the filter.

3. Activated carbon

And this is a set-up from about ten years ago that I decided to fire back up to use as quarantine tank, even for plants too, many times plants come with unwanted hitchhikers and this is a good way to take care of that. I used to keep grey tree fogs and baby slider turtles in that set-up but this time I think I will try to keep dragon flies, I have so many ideas.

Okay friends, I better get after my hobby, I am SO lucky!

Good morning friends! As it turns out, I'm not so lucky after all. As a Senior Aquarist I suffered a great loss yesterday, my smallest Goldfish has passed, the same lil fella that hung out mostly alone.

The Funeral was absolutely stunning! So many dignitaries showed up, even a few world Leaders too! And the Funeral Procession was at least several miles long! So except for all the customary and traditional Catholic Funeral rites and whatnot, I purposely took it easy yesterday because I had sore leg muscles from maybe playing/working too much.

Any ole way friends, here are the pics from yesterday's send off of a great lil Goldfish!

I'm kinda at a standstill with my tank until I can get more gravel. I need six or seven bags that weigh about 60 pounds each and they only cost $3.50 per bag but if I don't do anything I will never get more gravel. So I hate to do it but I'm considering paying that $80 delivery fee... just to get 20 bucks worth of pebbles!!!

And then there's that chunk of tree trunk all weathered just on the other side of the stream that I AM ITCHIN FOR! I want that shit so bad!
I'd fall down and lose a sliffard or two in the stream but it would be worth it to have my chunk of gnarly wood, yes it would!

I also been making even smaller pre-filters, this is fun stuff and it is an exercise in Dunce Crafting!

Here's some pics for your viewing pleasures!

This first one is a better look at what one bag of gravel covered.

And this is just a comparison of the lights. On the left is a pair of 200 watt LED's and the right hood has a 60 watt plate. The 60 watt plate hangs low inside the hood and I have the 200 watt plates mounted one inch above the top of the hood.light plates.jpg
I need to make some new friends in real life. And they MUST have a motor vehicle! Preferably a pick up truck. And then my new friend has to take me to Home Depot! Okay friends, until next time, Peace & Love!

Well if I can't make it to Home Dumbo, Home Dumbo can come to me instead! I got gravel delivered today. I split the 80 dollar delivery fee with Bunny, she got herself 30 bags of mulch, black mulch!

I was able to push each bag of gravel across the garage floor, into the house and then I used gravity to get it down the stairs into the basement. And then I rinsed it, @NU_FTW , I made a rinse tub with a drain it, and then I would pour the gravel in my tank. It clouded the water up as expected but it clears fast now.

And this is that piece of tree trunk that I can't wait to snag! Maybe I could lasso it with an extension cord! I ain't got me no cowboy rope.
Gnarly wood for fish tank.jpg

And I lost another goldfish overnight, this little guy was blind in one eye too. So now I have four left. I feel like all four are strong and healthy and will live and grow.

These next few weeks will see a lot of changes in my tank. Eventually the plan is to have most of it heavily planted. I'm getting all excited again! It's whats for dinner!

well, it's official...the paperwork has been processed and approved. The Crew now has an unstable Bear. Hear me roar, bitches.

Oh, and for the 14th year in a row...FOG's paperwork was DENIED.

what'd you have delivered?
Today it was mulch that got delivered but when the first part of the delivery came on Saturday, I got 12 bags of gravel and three sheets of plywood and it came in an unmarked box truck. I wanted a pic of a real Home Dumbo truck for effect & drama!

Good Tuesday Morning, Kind Friends, Dummies & Lovers!

Ahh, let's see what I wanna do today... I want that gnarly tree trunk so bad! And there is a slim to no chance that Bunny might help me get it when she gets home, how very exciting!!!

Also I have all the gravel laid out in my tank and I got it spread out. I finally got that done yesterday so the water is still a bit cloudy but it will be crystal clear soon. And once the plants are established, it will be heavenly!

I really like these goldfish way more than I thought I would. They always hang around together, they don't really 'school' like Neon Tetras do for example but they seem to enjoy having buddies! I have 4 goldfish.

I got a circulation pump, it's a small pump that shoots out a strong stream of water and the goldfish like to swim against the current and when they stop fighting the current they get blown back a good foot or 18 inches and then they do it again and again. They are really fun to watch.

I also want to fill up some of those ceramic flower pots with soil for the plants. Here's a few pics.

I ordered four of those Lilly Pad plants, it's just chunks of root cuttings called 'rhizomes', I have high hopes!

Starting to look like something now.

You need to treat, or sanitize that log before floating it in there? You going to weight it, or you think it will sink?
