If he does pull a Fitz, he probably does get cut. Which would be about as Washington as it gets, give up two picks (and move down in a pick swap) and pay $28 million for a guy to not play a down for you.

According to Schefty, the Commies are on the hook for the remainder of his deal. 3 more years. Cap figures of 28, 26, and 27.

Ouch, so that means they lifted the early out. However, I wonder what kind of cap hit they take if they cut him. I am not sure how the NFL salary cap hits after a trade. They might be able to drop him after one year and not have a cap hit.

From what I can tell, you're right. After this season, it's a year to year deal.

Slam on Wentz all you want but Washington went 7-10 this past season with Heinicke and his 20 TD's to 15 INT's

If they had Wentz and his 27-7 TD to INT they would have probably won 10 games.

No doubt that Wentz is a significant improvement over the Qbs they had. Even if it only results in a 2 or 3 game improvement, that puts the Commies right in the playoff race.

The Washington running game is ok. It isn't as good as Indy's, but the Commie pass blocking rated out higher than the Colts'. So, it might balance out. He'll have Tmac to throw to and McKissic is a good pass-catching RB, Thomas is underrated at TE (though an upgrade is necessary).

The Washington FO was desperate for an upgrade at QB. They got one and didn't pay all that much for him in terms of draft picks.

1 of the 3rd rounders can turn into a 2nd if Wentz plays 70 percent of the snaps next season but it's a decent deal for Washington overall.

Except now they only have 5 million in cap space in free agency. Going to have to be smart in the draft.

And if Wentz had the Skins receivers, OL, and defense he would have been 15tds to 20 INT's and went 6-11.

Flowers will be the casualty of this trade. He can be a post-6/1 cut and save them $9m in cap space I believe. Not that he is any big loss.

Really? I thought he was benched and on the outs with the team. And he has zero cap penalty if they cut him and save the $9M, I think.
