Vacation destinations...

BUT...having said that, would a giant wall of ocean water in some beautiful spot be the worst way to go?

I have backpacked some serious shit.

There is something about pavement and cement that hurts my goddamned feet. That and the actual standing.

I handle walking MUCH better than standing.

yeah… hawaii doesn’t have that stuff. You can get secluded places on lanai and Kauai but not like that.

im with ya on the traveling thing. I’m glad I did it earlier in life and don’t have that itch anymore. I’ve got my destinations that I enjoy and stick to them.

We were going to rent some bad ass place on the water. Bunch of individual bungalows, with a main kitchen living room building, and an outdoor kitchen near the water. Slept like 18 people, and was 600 a night. Never happened though, cuz broke family didn't want to kick it.

Oh man, that would've been sweet. $600 seems like a steal, compared to some of this shit I'm seeing. Especially if it was big.


As far as @dbldwn711 is saying...almost all of the shit I've seen so far, has wifi, cable, AC, and is "attached" to a resort-type thing.


I loooove feeling isolated. It is what I strive for when vacationing. The further detached from society the better. If I can FEEL that, and my vidiot kids can still have their goddamned wifi? Sign me up.

i hate tourist areas as well. It’s why I got out of Waikiki but I like being around other people. For me, vacations are more social and understanding other cultures rather than “getting away”. I met this girl in Australia when I was there who was from Hong Kong. After I left Australia we stayed in touch and I went to Hong Kong for about 10 days and spent the entire time with her. She showed me the whole city and I loved it! TBH, that’s my favorite city outside the US that I’ve been to
 
If I didn't have kids and a wife, I would be fucking camping and fishing in the most desolate and remote places ever.


My personal favorite trips are those where I don't see a soul and have zero internet.

true. I was there before it reverted back to China. Hong Kong harbor was incredible how it was all lit up. I was there over Christmas (which doesn’t mean too much to them) but it was decorated amazingly.

My second favorite city is Sydney and the third is Vancouver. I highly recommend going to Vancouver and taking the scenic drive up to whistler. I was there in May and even though there wasn’t any snow it was still a great trip.

It was covid pricing, and we were going to do it to celebrate my daughter graduation.
