tOfficial 2022 NFL Draft Thread

Given there were no super elite QB's in the class this year, and the Lions having 2 first round picks again next year, this makes all the sense in the world. When they do get a QB in, they'll have one of the best offensive lines in the NFL, a really good set of RB's, and the Lions have added Amon-Ra St. Brown, D.J. Chark, and Jameson Williams to their WR room. The rest of this draft should focus on defensive players, especially in the secondary. But IMO they're setting this up nicely to support a QB whenever they're able to get one.
This is the thought I had with the Lions. They don’t have to reach for any of these QBs at any point this year.

Williams likely ends up a great pick, but the rookie year will be a transition. Yes, ACL recoveries are about a given now….but we’ve seen that are often two year injuries to fully come back from. You can run a straight line speed right out of rehab, but things like cutting and the mental aspect of trusting it’s fixed can make it more than a one year recovery.

So….keep the powder dry…roll with Goff this year and see how it goes a year from now.

Gonna say Aiden Hutchinson and Kair Elam will be the biggest busts in the first round. Hutchinson got manhandled by a day 3 tackle in the biggest game of his life and Elam regressed last year
Thib will be the biggest bust in this draft.

Jennings was the 4th WR drafted
Nelson was the 3rd WR drafted
Cobb was the 7th WR drafted
Adams was the 9th WR drafted

If the Packers take a WR in the 2nd and no more WR's are drafted before them, then they will take the 7th WR. if that was their plan, and considering they have the 21st pick in the 2nd round which most assuredly means at least a couple more WR's will be taken, this looks to be the wrong year to need a WR and decide to wait until the 2nd round. Especially if you have two 1st round picks.

The top six receivers were gone before the Packers drafted at #22. Instead of reaching for a lower caliber QB in round one they went with value and will wait until later to get one. The two defensive players they drafted were quality picks.

Taking the #7 WR with the #22 pick was not a good position to be in. No way he would be as valuable to the team as the players they got. I have no problem here. Not managing to trade up could be second-guessed but not the players drafted.

Christian watson should be a stud. big hands...and speed

I at least see skill and heart in Hutch. I see give up and entitlement in Thibs. I cheered his selection by the Giants.
I see the heart in Hutch. I don’t see the skill. Got completely shut down by a day 3 tackle in the biggest game of his life. I see a try hard that shrinks when the moment gets big
