GAME #1 Georgia @ Tennessee - 2:30 CST on CBS

Pro Sport deals. They are moving away from most college broadcasts.

This game is turning into a runaway :(. The miss pass plays are killing Tennessee.

CBS Sports chairman earlier this week:

“[The SEC on CBS has] been great for us, and I think we’ve been really good for the SEC also. It’s the most valuable window in college football, the 3:30 (p.m. Eastern) window on CBS. We plan to be involved in the business of college football, big-time college football, going forward, and to take advantage of that tradition we’ve established.”

have you/yall heard who CBS is going to partner with next if anybody?

I would guess maybe the Big12 but I could be wrong

Nothing has been announced. They'll be in the mix for the PAC.

They are welcome to outbid ESPN/FOX for the remnants of the BigXII, I doubt anyone will care too much since that conference is about to be relegated to G6 status.

Are they still doing it? News to me.

Going back to other questions, CBS still has NFL, Masters, Army-Navy, College Basketball, etc.

They certainly haven't entered an agreement with a conference, but they seem unlikely to win the Big10 rights. ACC rights don't come up for a long time (2036). BigXII is about to become irrelevant. PAC seems like the negotiation to watch.

Well now that IS gonna be interesting to see how that shakes out.

If/when the playoff expands the Big12 may not be that irrelevant. It wont have the big brand match ups anymore but it WILL be an entertaining conference and if a playoff spot is available, then it makes it a lot sexier as a conference.

In which case, why is anyone tuning in?

If the CBS game of the week was regularly stuff like Missouri @ South Carolina, no one would care about it either.

People will be interested in the playoff opponents for the big brands similar to Cincy/BYU/UCF ect. now. They have CBSSN for the trash games.

The level of interest in Cincy games this season is about what CBS could expect for the BigXII games they would be getting.

(that level of interest is pretty low)

Meh I dunno about that, they still have some decent brands even without Texas and OU, def better than the AAC, and very similar to the ACC and PAC usually.

I do think CBS has something with the Mountain West so CBS would be a good bet.

Look at it this way, part of the reason the SEC is what it is today is thanks to our National Televised CBS games in the 1990s back when National Televised games were NOT that common.

Good defense by Georgia there. Georgia definitely has the best defense Tennessee has played this year.

Cade Mays is a good player but man he tends to have gaffs every once in a while that hurt us.

That play was hilarious with the hurry-up causing UGA to have 16 players on the field and a pass interference.

Damn. Vols had to have that 4th down conversion

Yeah, not sure who the pass was too but the defense was tight on that play and no one was open. I didn't feel good about it. UGA's defense is too good up front to give up 4 yards.

Yea, nowhere for QB to go on that play. Defense has every receiver blanketed

Bennett is awful

Before 1990, the SEC still had substantial big name brands. The BigXII has no big name brands after the defections occur

Who? Iowa State?
