GAME #1 THE Ohio State @ Rutgers | Noon on CBS

Michigan had the game locked down by the end of the third quarter, while Rutgers had every triple chinned Buckeye fan sweating bullets in the early part of the 4th quarter.

Michigan didn't have it locked down until 12:38 in the fourth when they went up 31-7. Ohio State went up 28-16 with 12:00 left to end Rutgers chances.

It's splitting hairs really

And yet Michigan beat them by a whole 5 points more than Ohio State while also getting a huge pick 6 when Rutgers was driving
Yeah -- the difference is -- Michigan was up by so much, Rutgers actually punted the ball in the 4th quarter. Where as they gifted OSU a TD by going for it at their 17 yard line.

But keep telling yourself the games were comparable. Michigan had 20 first downs. Rutgers had 10. Michigan had 150 more yards of offense. Michigan had the 13 more minutes than Rutgers.

Stats wise they weren't but keep telling yourself Rutgers was driving to make the game very close against you guys just like they were against us before a game changing pick six

Just so I understand you, the game wasn't over when Michigan was up 17, 24-7, but it was over when OSU was up 12. What kind of math is that?

Michigan was up 10. Ohio State was losing by 2 when the pick 6 happened.

Michigan controlled every aspect of the game against Rutgers. We ran for over 200, we threw for over 200. We held their "NFL RB" to 26 yards on 11 carries.

Outside of both teams having a pick six -- that is where the comparisons between the two games end.

I was talking the Rutgers QB -- he was terrible. OSU's QB is a huge step down from prior year's too, but he is way better than the trash Rutgers has.
hahahah you are right Rutgers QB was horrible. The Buckeye QB along with the oline are a big problem.

It isn't easy to not look good as a QB at OSU with the absolutely ridiculous talent you have at the WR position. But McCord has had issues, especially in games on the road.

I don't know enough about the OSU offensive line to make an educated response. I just know you replaced 3 guys -- not sure who or what spots. I did see Rutgers was able to confuse them with some blitzes.

Not great run blocking although vs. Rutgers it looked much better. I think that is one of McCord's problems is he is so ready to get hit he rushes things.

a Michigan fan and Harball fuckboys come in here after I post a fact. Michigan hasn’t beat a good team. Deal with it. A bunch of cheaters and they can’t even win a title LOL

So 24-7 isn’t a lockdown?

They learn that math at the school of livestock n’ shit

I was half listening to the game. Was Rutgers starter injured at some point?

28-7 in the second half

If Rutgers outplayed us why did they lose by 3 scores :headscratch:
Did you ever envision a day when you would be rationalizing a game against Rutgers?

That was an ugly game. I'd bet quite a bit OSU will be dropping in the rankings. Rutgers outplayed OSU. They were just horrendous in the red zone and that QB they have is terrible. Rutgers had 3 FG's that were shorter than extra points. Props to OSU for keeping them out of the end zone though.
Oddly enough this is OSU's biggest weakness this year. 22 TDs on 36 RZ trips. If we end up losing a game, I can guarantee it will involve at least two scoreless drives that end inside the opponents 10.

I dont think so. He missed some open receivers.

Yeah, Hancock got burned on that out and go. Thankfully he won't have to stay in that position (as long as Burke gets healthy)

I think Hancock has been pretty solid this year. Going in, the gameplan definitely wasn't centered around Rutgers' downfield passing since it's basically non-existent, so I can see why a mistake would happen, but overall I have few complaints about him.

I agree he has been solid in there but that one was really bad. Sonny styles has also stepped up nicely when called upon
