The only way to survive the crush is to be at the backend. There's going to be some jockeying for those coveted spots. Not everybody is a zoophilic Rambo like you and Chewy

If you're going to die anyway, then I would choose execution by the guy who locked me in the cage, or put all my effort towards trying to kill him/them.

Death isn't enough of a deterrent for me to try and kill an innocent animal ... or a lot of things for that matter.

If it's 20 guys who just have a psycho/drug induced kamikaze rage to kill a gorilla, then I choose the 20 guys.

Agreed, our brains are our super power and allows us to overpower or negate every other animal. But if we can't use our brains to create something to beat a gorilla then the gorilla is going to win.
 
The gorilla would use the men as baseball bats against the other men.

If there are no gadgets or weapons, the silverback dominates. The only chance the men would have is if they took turns running around to tire the ape out. If an all-out assault, the ape literally tears the men apart.
